Are you fucking kidding me? I'm flying in from Texas and booked the Hilton (Financial District), because of it's relation in terms of distance to the Warfield... Where's this venue? Anywhere near the original one?

Anywhere near the original one? Google maps says it's about a half hour walk from your hotel to the venue (or less than 10 minutes if you'd rather cab it over). Start: 750 Kearny Street San Francisco, CA 94108 End: Regency Center - Grand Ballroom, 1300 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, California 94109

This is getting embarrassing for an inprovement? It's a downgrade...not an upgrade. They're going to the smaller venue now. It's not happened that much really though. 2 downgrades and a couple gigs merged. Hardly that embarrassing.

Not necessarily embarrassing, not a good thing though.
Obviously this has been mentioned, but they need to do something to raise their profile outside of their safe spots.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed being able to see them at the Metro back in June and being right up front.

I don't know about anyone else here but I personally would always prefer to see Noel perform in the smallest venue possible. If I had tickets to this I wouldn't be complaining

Just like in real life, I wind up in the wrong place without a clue of what I'm on about

I googled it after my initial post and saw it's only about .5 miles farther, so no biggie. I read that you're going to the gig (and i figure you're prob pretty familiar with the San Fran music scence) and wanted to know how early you think one should arrive, if they wanted to be very near the front, if not front row?

Looks like doors open at 8pm so I'd stop by around 5pm (maybe even 6pm) to see if anyone's waiting yet. I really can't see too many willing to brave the cold.

Jeffrey- I went to every show on the East Coast leg. Never went in early or waited in line, yet I worked my way up to the front at every show without being rude or shoving. I wouldn't worry about getting there too early.

I wouldn't mind them playing a smaller venue here in Boston too! As bad as it is for the band money-wise, it's always better to see shows at smaller venues!
