I'll probably also drop by the Fat Cat. I'll be in the area for most of the day.

Noel definitely took that tiger outside for a ride tonight! Superb performance. Came to Chicago for the weekend for the show and it was a great end. Haven't been keeping up with the setlist lately so I don't know if he normally excludes Wonderwall but that surprised me. I do grow tired of the song but on reflection I must admit to being a little disappointed at not hearing it. Also expected The Masterplan, but oh well. Mona was good too. Saw them on Conan or Leno and also downloaded their record a while back. Didn't do much for me back then but their live performance impressed me. I had these fantasies before the show that after Noel plays a few songs, Liam would walk out and announce that they've made up and this is an Oasis show now. Didn't happen but got the next best thing.

Show was good but not great. The crowd was lame and lots of just standing and looking sedated. This is my 6th hfb show and it's been the bottom 2 shows as far as crowd energy. Most electrifying performance was Detroit, it was almost spiritual. Noel was brilliant as always at EVERY show. He never disappoints. Long live The Cheif.

I think the crowd usually depends on what section you're in. But from the section I was in, the crowd was excellent. I was completely surprised when Noel let us sing the chorus to DLBIA. Probably the best moment of the gig. But WAL, RM, Supersonic, Whatever, IIHAG, TDOYAM, and Mucky Fingers were great crowd pleasers. So I thought the crowd was tremendous all in all. The improvement I could ask for was that Noel didn't have a good banter with the crowd except with the section I was in which kept screaming for the Masterplan. "I guess you know what that means. You'll have to go straight home and listen to the cd....Pretty good cd by the way." hahaha Noel was brilliant as usual. I truly believe that it's impossible for a Gallagher to have a bad show in Chicago. Truly is impossible. He was really captivating as a frontman, which originally worried me because from the videos I've seen of him, I've thought him to be only a decent, yet much improved frontman. But now, I really do want to elevate him to being a pretty good frontman. Not great, but pretty damn good. I can't think of a bad show in Chicago off the top of my head. The Gallaghers have never disappointed in this city and I'm glad that that streak continues. Oh and it was great meeting Etrilk before the gig at the Fat Cat. Had a great time and conversations with him and his mates before the gig. And was great meeting Northern Soul too. Hopefully Noel puts in another Chicago tour date for June.

I still haven't completely processed the show to the fullest. I was absolutel blown away. One of the highlights of my life as far as live music goes. Couldn't believe that Whatever, Freaky Teeth, Talk Tonight, Half The World Away were all played on the same setlist. I will most likely write on here again once I've fully come to terms with what I saw. The crowd where I was was brilliant. I even got a pick of Noel's- gonna put it next to my one of Gem's in a little frame I suppose. Spanelli, it was a pleasure. I'm sure we'll meet again real soon. Also, right after you left Fat Cat they played Everybody's on the Run!

Thanks for the updates people. I really wish I could have been there - you've got all the cool ppl meeting up here: a fellow teacher, a fellow Canadian (and from the prairies too), and Spaneli. Good crowd, eh?

Great gig...sorry we ran out of time to chat more, spaneli. I do agree that the crowd was a bit lame...compared to Boston last November, anyway. Noel was in fine form, though, as usual.

So jealous you guys got Whatever. I think I am beginning to understand Noel's comments about not changing the set to keep the fans from getting annoyed. He's changed 1 song since November...and I'm slightly irritated. I can only imagine if he had included versions of Slide Away or The Masterplan, etc. Glad you guys had a great time!
