Anyone who went to Belfast (like me) know what he means by "My keyboard player (who shall remain nameless) had the gig of his life. If you were there you'll know what I mean… Think Rick Wakeman mid-stroke!!"? I remember at one point they went to play a song (i think it was little by little) and it sounded like Wonderwall so everyone went wild. . .then noel stopped it and the crowd jeered (jokingly of course!). I initially thought it was noel who messed up the chords and started laughing!!

Yes…
Well… Can't remember when the last time was we spoke… To be honest I'm having trouble remembering anything after the BRITs! What a smash up!! Well enjoyed it. It'll probably be the last time I ever get nominated so we were pretty determined to rip it a new arsehole, and from what I can gather we had a right good crack at it too. It's all got a bit too slick that thing now though, it's treated with a bit too much respect, if you ask me… It is but a TV show with a few awards carved up and spread around… And if I'm not very much mistaken did I detect the faint whiff of a few wrong 'uns miming? I think I did… You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I digged Coldplay though, and Blur and Olly Murs' dancers!! (Blimey!!!)
As for what went on after? Reports are still coming in. I remember going to a party on a boat. I remember going to another party in a posh gaff in the West End. I remember getting that comedian Rob Brydon to do his thing for us (which was fuckin' funny). I remember… well not much else, to be honest. Called it a day at about 10am!! Proper old school business. Didn't get home until 5pm the next evening and I'd somehow managed to nick a giant shoe and ended up with an £8,000 watch!!! And I don't even wear a watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Felt as bad as I've ever felt yesterday. I was seriously thinking of phoning in sick. I needn't have worried though. Last night's gig here in Newcastle was mega… Might have been the best one yet. Had a top laugh with the crowd. A great night. If you were there, I thank you.
ONWARDS.

Yes..now then. Been a long time eh? Lots to tell .. . think the last time we had words I was just on my way to the great city of Glasgow? Had a gig at the SECC I think? Top night as I recall. It always is up there. There was a nice surprise before the show. Bonehead was in town and stuck his head round the door to say hello!! Hadn't seen him for . . . well fuckin' years!! He was in good spirits, he says hello by the way. Did a gig at that 02 place in London couple of nights after. It was shit yet mega at the same time somehow. It felt a bit too big for me. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Dunno. I didn't enjoy it much anyway. I seen people eating while I was playing . . . ACTUALLY EATING!!!!!!! ?? Please somebody explain to me what the FUCK that's all about. Cheeky vaginas! Tthere is of course a time and a place for such things and surely at a gig isn't one of them . . . is it? After that nonsense it was good to jib back up to Glasgow for a little (and I mean tiny) gig for some competition winners in a place called "the Grand Ole Opry" which was neither grand nor old!! Great night though. Loved it. Next up was them NME awards. Bizarre affair that thing now. Is it an award ceremony or is it a mini indoor festival?? Seems like it's a bit of both. I was presented with the god-like genius award, which was nice. I must thank all the people what said such nice words about me. I'm talking 'bout you Paul Weller and you Ray Davies and you Bobby G and you Guy Garvey and you Sergio and you Brandon Flowers and you Sir Roger Daltrey and you you little Arctic Monkey chops and Johnny Marr. Had to keep a lid on the celebrations though. Had a gig up in Birmingham the next day. Great show. Some clowns down the front were seemingly hell bent on trying to start a fight. Luckily they never quite managed it. Knob heads. Legged it up to Manchester that night as I had been invited to go and watch Man City train!! What an honour. Fuck me them boys can play. Got to meet and do an interview with the man simply known as . . . Balotelli. It was filmed by the BBC so you'll be able to see it soon. WHAT A DRUID!!! That kid truly does not give a flying fuck about anything. You currently find me in the great city of Barcelona. Had a gig last night which was tip- top. Some of the lads were in a right mess from the night before. A dodgy rogan-Josh apparently!!! Off to Paris now and I'm late. Au revoir. ONWARDS. GD.

Yes..well been mad busy. Lot's to tell. So . . . where were we? Barcelona right? The trip from Barcelona to Paris was uneventful as you would imagine. Landed in the rain and rushed across town to sit in a cold room for 3 hours waiting to do some bizarre tv show where me and 6 other French people occupied some kind of rustic dining table for a casual chat while they ate desert!! For real!!!!! As you can imagine it was a bit awkward. Me . . . not knowing the lingo had to wear an ear piece what had an interpreter translating the conversation into my lug-hole. Still had no fucking idea what they were on about. The gig in Paris was great. It was in a place called Grand Rex Theatre. Incredible upholstery!! The seats would most definitely have been stolen had it been in England!! 2 of that band The Strokes were there . . . Fab and Albert to be exact. I ain't seen them for long time..cool cats man. Had a brilliant night out after.stumbled into an empty restaurant at fuck knows what time to catch 2 french dudes - one on piano and one on the guitar - playing that song "harvest moon" by Neil Young. What followed was mega. They started taking requests. . . well at least I think they did . . . and before you know it it was 5am!! They went through every genre of music I've ever heard of!! 50's,60's,70's,80's . . . they stopped at the 90's though thankfully. My lovely good lady wife kept them on their little French toes with a barrage of 80's demands what peaked with "the wham rap"!!! It really was fucking mega. Needless to say the next day was spent nursing a rather sore head. Well worth it though. I LOVE PARIS! So...last night's gig here in Hamburg was ok . . . not bad . . . if I'm being honest I was still feeling it a little bit from Paris. Someone - they were definitely german - kept shouting out, clear as day, in between songs . . . "KEVIN KEEGAN!!!!" ? Indeed. Off to Berlin just now. Gotta go. ONWARDS. GD.

es...
Well now it has been a long time hasn't it? About a week or so? Fuck knows. I'll try and recall some of the best bits for you.
Berlin!! Never really got to see much of that place down the years and if I did it was under cover of darkness. I had a much better look around this time though. Very beautiful indeed - the sunny weather might have had something to do with it, but to say it was virtually destroyed during that Second World War it still has some magnificent sights. The gig itself was great I think. I do remember the soundcheck being the the worst I've ever, ever done, truly appalling. The gig was mega though...oh yeah...and there was some bird down the front with a placard that read something like...PLEASE COME TO THE LEBANON! WE LOVE YOUR HIGH FLYING BIRDS!
The Lebanon eh? Might give that a miss...
Now...Munich? Not much going on there as I remember. Cold, wet and windy. The end.
Rome on the other hand was magnificent. Rome is magnificent, I fucking LOVE that place!! One of the greatest places on earth, no question. Pity I was working though. The sun was out, the streets were full, the only thing missing was my good lady wife, she'd have been in her element!!
The gig was equally as magnificent. Those kids break all kinds of records for the loudest, most passionate, most intense, most...most mostest fans in the world!! Crazy kids. They are mithering fuckers though..."one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign, one picture, please sign..."
...and that was just the hotel staff!!
Outside the gig they have A LOT of bootleg t-shirt stalls. I had to drive through them to get to the backstage area bit upon where I saw many, many t-shirts bearing my name and face etc. Right in the middle of one particular stall though was a t-shirt that simply said...SEXY BITCH!!
Now it remains unclear as to who or what this particular item was referring to. I'd like to think it may have had a little picture of me on the back...or my drummer!!
Took the train to Milan the day after that for a little one of those acoustic gigs I do from time to time. Not the best I have to say, I just wasn't in the mood somehow.
Caught another train to Zurich the next day. What a ride!! Up and over the Alps, magnificent scenery. T'was all too beautiful (as Steve Marriott once sang). Unfortunately the gig was a shocker. Without doubt the worse I've ever done, just piss poor. The crowd loved it though which somehow made it even worse. An unsatisfactory end to a great little tour.
You currently find me in the most depressing hotel in all of Europe. Flying home today...10 days off!!
See you in America.
ONWARDS.

I seriously don't know what he's on about. He actually apologised to the crowd during the gig I've listened to a lot of NGHFB bootlegs in the last couple of months and musically speaking the gig last night wasn't any worse than any other gig he's played on this tour.

Yes..well now then the gig in DC was OK. We ain't played for a couple of weeks so it always takes 3 or 4 gigs to get back into the groove so to speak. Our usual keyboard player (can't remember his name now) has stayed back home to help his wife have a kid, so his roadie has valiantly stepped into the breach to cover for him . . . . A bit of pain in the arse but we shall soldier on as best we can. Got a bit of a cold and all . . . with all that in mind the gig wasn't too bad. It was a good laugh anyway. Great crowd.
Bussed it overnight to the cultural centre of the middle of fucking nowhere, Columbus, Ohio. There is quite literally NOTHING going on here. Nothing to see. nothing to do. Had a gig here last night. Still not quite at full power but it was another fun night. Great crowd. They was chanting the stand-in keyboard players name by the end of the night . . . very funny (his name's Ben by the way).
Got a dirty little hangover today. Not nice, feel like a little lump of shit in fact but get on this . . . of all the people in all the world, have a guess who checked in to this hotel this morning? Go on have a guess . . . you'll never guess.................... only blimmin' Kasabian!!! What are the odds on that? Unbelievable!
Before I let you go I must tell you this story that has literally JUST happened to me. So . . . I'm just stood at some traffic lights waiting to cross the street when some guy slopes up to me . . .
"Hey man I don't mean to disrespect you”, (now that usually means you're about to be disrespected) “but you do realize you got a little 80's thing going on with your hair there?"
I was speechless.
"What do you call that style you got?"
I was without speech.
"You look like that . . . who was that muh-fucker pro-doocer who shot that bitch in the face?"
Erm..Phil Spector?
"Phil Spector! You look like Phil Spector!!"
Erm..thanks..(I don't know why I said thanks)
"Say . . . do you believe in Jesus?"
Seriously that just happened to me!!!!
I fucking love America.
ONWARDS.

Noel's 'Englishman abroad' interactions with members of the American public are priceless.
They missed a trick not filming this tour for a documentary, Lord Don't Slow Me Down II: The Return of The Chief, would've been ace.

Bought myself a new guitar!!
Yes . . . well . . . Detroit then? A lively bunch. Great show. Nearly up to speed now. Close to 100%. Ben our newest member was getting the shout out from the crowd. Funny.
Overnighted it to Chicago. No drama. It is fucking cold though. It's always freezing here.
The gig itself here in the windy city was maybe the best so far. My voice is not at it's best though. My cold is playing havoc with it. A bit frustrating but what can you do?
Had a day off here yesterday. Bought myself a new guitar!! Hadn't bought one in a couple of years. A beauty it is too. A blonde Gibson 345 . . . 1972 . . . quite rare.
Not much else going on at the moment. Driving to Milwaukee today. Got a show there tonight.
And that comrades, is about all I've got for you.
ONWARDS.

Funny thing is that if he had arrived here a day later, he would have enjoyed temperatures in the high 60's-70's. Nice Spring Weather. He got here on the one day this past month and half that was "cold". It was mid 40's. It gets colder. Noel needs to stop being a softy. The gig in Chicago was brilliant though. Still can't believe we got to sing the chorus to DLBIA. A Gallagher+Chicago can never go wrong.

For anyone looking to catch up on the Tales from the Middle of Nowhere they are handily catelogued here: strandedonthewrongbeach.com/category/tales-from-the-middle-of-nowhere/Here is the new one Yes comrades . . . where were we? Milwaukee? Yes, Milwaukee!!! Not much going on there let me tell you . . . . There was a statue of the Fonz across the road from the gig, That’s just about the most exciting thing I can remember. Some of the lads on my crew spent the day posing for photo’s with him . . . it . . . whatever. You know what I mean. Looking at some of the pictures later it was hard to tell who was the actual Fonz!! But why is there a statue of the Fonz in Milwaukee you ask . . . well . . . the series “Happy Days” was set in Milwaukee, see? Played in a beauty of a theatre. Great show, great crowd. Think I’ve started to notice a few people following the tour now . . . like what they do back home . . . which is nice. Thanks. So . . . Indianapolis? Spent the day watching Top Gear on BBC America . . . I fucking love Top Gear. I don’t know why, the gig was more like a town meeting in a village hall. I enjoyed it though. I don’t know why someone shouted out REALLY FUCKING LOUDLY during Supersonic, “WHERE’S BONEHEAD?” I mean . . . what does that even mean? Which brings me to yesterday . . . a day off in Atlanta, Georgia. The home of CNN and Coca-Cola. Had a mooch round a couple of shopping malls. Just killing time. Nice weather, lovely people. Looking forward to this gig tonight. I recognised the theatre. Not sure what it’s called but I remember it being the scene of one of the best ever Oasis gigs. Not sure what era. That Swedish band The Soundtrack Of Our Lives were playing with us and we were both on fire that night!!! We fucking crushed it big time. Out of here early doors tomorrow. Flying to Mexico!! Cannot fucking wait for that shit!! ONWARDS. GD.

I was at the gig in Indy when the dude shouted out, "WHERE'S BONEHEAD?". Noel was taken aback. He was like, "What? Bonehead? Seriously?"
Same dude also shouted out, "F*** LIAM" earlier in the set. I think Noel said something funny in response, but I was in Orchestra Left and the shouts were coming from Orchestra Right and I couldn't make out what Noel was saying to the guy.

All of a sudden the lights started to sway . . . Yes comrades.
Been a colossal few days. Think the last time we spoke was just before the gig in Atlanta right?
And what a gig! I thought it was gonna be great the minute I set foot on the stage . . . incredible atmosphere, great sound, we played great. All in all a top, top, night. What made it for me was this little girl who stood on her seat in the front row and sang EVERY WORD to EVERY SONG for an hour and a half! She was only 8 years old!!!! (I know this because she gave me a note explaining that it was her first ever gig etc, etc). The NSPCC needn't worry . . . she was with a responsible adult . . . . Can't remember what she said her name was but she was cool as fuck anyway.
Left early the next day and flew to Mexico City. A couple of gigs preceded by 3 days off!!
Got a bit messy the first night. Too much mescal . . . which of course led to more mescal . . . what led to a late night and a quite filthy hang over. The next night we went to some cantina or other to watch some big football match between Chivaz and Americas. Utterly forgettable game. Think Americas won it late on 1-0. Fucking rubbish.
Can't remember what happened the day after that. Nothing maybe . . . dunno . . . anyway the day AFTER that was gig day which started off early with a press conference. Fairly uneventful stuff . . . the usual gear . . . Oasis . . . blah-blah . . . Liam . . . blah, blah. (kill me now!) I did get given a bottle of tequila though (which was nice). Sat and watched some kids in the main square flying home made kites after soundcheck . . . incredible. Not as incredible as the gig though . . . a truly special night.
Not as special as what happened the next day let me tell you. So, I'm half way through an interview for TV when all of a sudden the lights which were lighting the room gently started to sway from side to side and the door began to rattle slightly . . . . Now, I didn't take much notice of this until the camera man very softly and calmly said "we have to leave and go to the outside . . . there is an earthquake happening." Just like that!!!!!! So, we all get evacuated into the car-park and the whole place is just gently rocking back and forth . . . a bit like being on a boat . . . mad as fuck!! 6.9 on the Richter scale it was!!!! I loved it . . . my first earthquake.
The gig that night (last night in fact) was even more special than the one the night before. The support band got booed off!! BOOED OFF!!!!! I've never seen that in nearly 20 years . . . I loved that too!!!! I'll forever remember my own show for a funny scene with someone holding up a placard that said "NOEL WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Thing is it was actually a guy!!!!!!!! And he looked genuinely upset when I informed him I was already spoken for . . . what the fuck?? Funny though. We left the building in the middle of a downpour. The streets were teaming with water and they stunk of cabbage and piss . . . nice.
Which brings me to today. I'm back in my 2nd home Los Angeles. Doing that Coachella festival.
Looking forward to it.
ONWARDS.
GD.
