I'm surprised with the large number of people mentioning STC. It's a masterpiece!
For me it'd be SBAJF, but have only listened through one time.

I keep switching on this one. Defintely not EOTR, IIHAG, BA, TDOYAM, SOTWB, RM or WAL. WAL is an awesome track. The more I listen to it, the more I think it may very well be the best one on the album. This after being a bit disappointed when it came out.
That leaves SBAJF, DO and STC
SBAJF is not really my bag but it is a terrific melody and has some of the best lyrics on the album.
Dream On's chorus is a bit of a letdown, but the verses are awesome and it is growing on me.
I'm gonna have to settle on STC as the "winner". Lovely tune, and I like the ending, but a bit too draggy in parts.
Wow-that was tough.

Dream On has grown on me a bit actually.
One song that I can't get into too much is RM actually. It's a tune all the way, but it's just not great. I like it, that one was a let down I think at this point.
I'm really enjoying this album, can't wait to get the deluxe when it comes out with my little booklet... as some of you know, I love the booklets lol

I love all the songs, but if i had to pick it would be SBAJF like many others have. It is very close between AKA... WAL! and SBAJF for the weakest track on the record.

I would say 'Dream On' considering I was really looking forward to it and it ended up being a bit disappointing to me, but I'd have to go with 'AKA... What A Life!'
The thing with WAL is that it builds and builds and builds but nothing ever happens. It's kind of like with 'Morning Glory' where it drains you so much from its repetition that when it ends it's almost a relief. I'm not saying MG isn't a good song; I'm not even saying WAL is a bad song, I just think WAL was more of an experiment that wasn't fully realized but seemed good enough since it was something fresh. I commend Noel for trying new things, I think it's great... but I think WAL is a different song for a different day. That's just me...

After listening a lot to the album I can definitely say its 'Dream On'. The song was discribed as She's Electric/Digsy's Dinner type of tune, but it actually has a much darker atmosphere and a not so catchy chorus.... After a while, songs like SOTWB and SBAJF really grew on me, but Dream On still seems like the one I really want to skip.... not a good choice for the second tune in the track listing IMO...
I'd love to see LTLSALIM on the record, it's such an amazing tune..... same goes for Alone On The Rope...

SOTWB for sure. Not that I hate it, I just find it to be the weakest on the album.

I was expecting SBAJF to be the least best, but I quite like it, for what it is.
I am also surprised to find how much more I like AKA WAL now than I did when it first came out.
But I would have to say either Dream On or SOTWB as the least best...probably Dream On. I like it, but as someone said, the interminable outro of "Shout it out for me" drags it down. It reminds me a lot of the Turning alt #4, with the pounding Lyla drums and the dark bass progressions in there.

i keep coming back to this thread to post mine and i just can't pull the trigger on the weakest track for me.... this is one of the most consistently good/great records i have ever heard.

After first full listen, dream on is poor in comparison to the others.
Very pleasantly surprised by both record machine and stop the clocks. Hearing the demos years ago is surely the only reason for some of the negatively toward those two?
What a life isn't a particular favourite. Still gets my foot tapping though!!
Great album

Pretty much looks like Dream On to me...although I haven't totaled anything up.
Just an ODD tune to me...I will admit that I find myself humming it...perhaps even more so than any other ditty on the LP, but I'm just not nuts about it when I put it on. Figure that one out.
Someone mentioned the "dark" feeling to it, and that may be it. The start sounds like some kind of poppy gas panic and then 30 seconds later you've got that goofy chorus.
Real odd duck for me.
SBJF is perfectly passable and I like SOTWB so those are out for me. All else is largely great...although I can understand the disappointment for STC, I still like it.

SBJF has become my least favorite. It's alright and I really like the lyrics. It just sounds like a less catchy version of SOTWB for me. That's the only one I only enjoy on occasion, though.
I suppose I fall in the loves DO/doesn't quite love SBJF category, but DO is still one of my favorites on the album. As with most Noel songs, the melody carries it for me.

I'm too lazy to see if I posted in here yet. On first listen my 3 lowest would be DO, IIHAG and SB&JF, but I've come to love DO recently and IIHAG is a great song so SB&JF it is. It's a good song, but it's lacking something that makes it really enjoyable. It's just sort of there, whereas every other song has at least parts that I really love.

I understand "weak" as Keep The Dream Alive, She's Love, PYMWYMI, I Can See A Liar, The Nature Of Reality, Soldier On.....
A very, very solid album.....I really enjoy STC, far better from the demo IMO.

Found this thread when I was digging around in the depths of the board looking for reviews of this album. Very interesting to read everyone's impressions!
My choice for weakest (or the one I like the least, anyway) would be either Dream On or Death of You and Me. DO has this kind of bounciness to the rhythm that I don't really enjoy, the "shout it out to me" chorus/outro is annoying, but most of all that line "the bitch keeps bitching" just absolutely ruins it for me. I can't even really describe why I find DOYAM so unpleasant to listen to - some combination of the falsetto and the circus feel.
If we were including the stuff from the deluxe edition, though, it'd absolutely be The Good Rebel. Obnoxious from the first line and never improves. Fortunately it's at the very end, so I usually just stop after Let the Lord Shine the Light on Me.

Record Machine / STC.
2 songs we had heard about 5 years prior to release, that were incredibly underwhelming.
Seriously lazy putting them on the album.

Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks followed by Dream On. That's not to say they're bad songs, they just don't shine quite as much as the others on the album. To be fair I'd say the debut was refreshingly consistent compared with the last decades worth of Oasis material. Chasing Yesterday and Who Built the Moon? aren't too shabby in that regard either.

Still hate what they did productionwise to "Stop the clocks". The demo blew me away and is Just a beautiful piece of music, but the over the top production and added nonsense make this feel like a brilliant twin peaks Episode executed by someone like Michael Bay.

I often think that I don't like Dream On, and then by the end I'm bellowing out the chorus. Always loved it live, too.
