I can still remember that day vividly as I entered the lounge at my local university to find that a plane had crashed into a tower of the World Trade Center in NY. Being done with class for the day, I made my way home. Wasn't home for more than about 30 seconds when I watched live as the second tower was hit. Devastating really. Life was altered that day and forever in this country. So, where were you? How'd you find out? Thoughts?

i just finished school and had to go the the dentist, somebody mentioned "planes crashing into buildings in new york" after the dentist got home and saw on Sky News the images and realised that the Twin Towers had already fallen, ill never forget the feeling of seeing something so devastating happen.
I remember buying a t-shirt with the stars and stripes on it as a mark of respect..
big respect to all the heroes that risked/ gave thier lives to save others and RIP to all that lost thier lives that day.

I was 9 at the time and remember it like it was yesterday. Heard about it at school from a teacher and was home to see the 2nd tower collapse.

I was only 7... I don't remember much of it, apart from the fact that we all got to go home early because there were parent's ringing up the school, worried that it might happen in the UK... It was a very surreal day... I was happy at the start of the day because I had just worked out that I could properly call myself 7 and a half... but I remember my mum picking me an my sister up about an hour early and everyone was just going crazy... It doesn't feel like 10 years ago :S

I was on the plane...
But seriously, I was only 11 so I didn't gave it much attention. I was home with my family and I remember watching it live on tv but the innocence of youth pulled me elsewhere

I was 8 and I remember it very well - my mother was shocked and desperately trying to call my aunt who was in New York and who had actually been to the towers the day before... I remember watching it on TV live, specially the second time. Absolutely horrible.

I was in the Common Room in Sixth Form. The whole Sixth Form filtered into various rooms as the news broke, and watched it all unfold

"This is for our brothers and sisters in America" - Noel Gallagher (2001 shortly after 9/11)
think I was 6 at the time, a friend was staying over that night and my mom woke us up at 5 or 6AM. I don't know what I was seeing, all I knew that it was bad.

I was at home, my mom just came to visit (I think a few days before). I turn on the news on the Spanish channel TVE and at first we thought it was an "accident". I think we stayed glued to the tv all day long.

Another note from me, I have an uncle who was at a meeting in the second tower that day. After the first was hit they left and moved the tower down the street a few blocks, after the second was hit they all realized that this thing was for real and ended the meeting. He had to drive to Pittsburg to get a flight back to California post attack. Crazy stuff.
RIP to all. God Bless!

I was about 11, getting ready for another day in 6th grade when my dad called and said that two planes had crashed into the WTC towers. I didn't know what to make of it then, but I knew it was an attack. The fact that teachers refused to talk about it at school only cemented that fact. When I got home and saw the images, I was stunned.

I was 12, in the car with my mother, going to this fucking shitty school where all I heard was ignorant pricks laughing all day at the news. We were excused to go home, but my parents were working. It just made the next few months so much worse. I thought about killing myself by the time we were in November, but meh. I somehow survived until May.
So I've been sleeping all day to keep from reading all the stuff that's being posted all day just because it felt like someone dug a whole 100ft deeper into my already miserable life.
I'm trying to forget the past, but everytime this day comes up, it's like a slap in the face.

I was eleven when it happened. I was at school. I remember when we walked into class and my teacher asked us if we knew what the World Trade Centers were. We answered no, and then she calmy explained what happened. For the rest of the morning we listened to news radio as a class to hear what was happening. Then school cancelled for the afternoon.
I remember going home and being glues to the television. My mother was pregnant with my little sister who would be born 10 days later. So she was in the next room watching the television. And I remembered feeling scared because there was a report that Chicago might also be one of the targets and that they might be targeting the Sears Tower. Wasn't until a few months later that we found out that Chicago were in the original plans, but they decided to hold off on us until they were able to plan again and mount another terror attack.
Scary times.
