I know this has been talked about alot but im curious to know what other people think was his best year vocally..
I'd have to go with 2000,
It had the perfect blend of sneer and rock in his voice but he could also still hit most of the high notes. For example this (which may actually have been done at the end of 1999)
What do you's think??

People will say knebwort but I disagree, I don't like the way he sings certain songs, like slide away, on the recorded gig.
I would agree though, either 2000 or 1997

I'd probably go with 96 or 97 - his range was still pretty good but he also had the raspy voice. Although some of the early stuff in 2000 was spot on as well (e.g. Carnation).
I'd say this was one of his best vocals (RNRS 2000 Evening Session):

1995 for sure for me. Liam was at his legendary peak at Glastonbury and the Earls Courts gigs.

1995-1996. Glastonbury, Maine Road and Earls Court are my favorites. But 2000 isn't bad either.

95-97, certain songs he has done really well in that period. Dont Go Away as one example.

Gmex is shit compared to Oslo Specktrum and those early tour 1997 bootlegs
he sounded as good as 1995. 96

His peak voice was 94. Live Forever and Slide away were best live in that year.

depends on which songs he sings. slide away, live forever, cast no shadow and all those songs are certainly sound better with his 95-97 voice. but rocknroll star c&a bring it on down and the rest sounded better in recent years

RnRS, C&A and BIOD all sounded best in 1994-95. Check out Live by the Sea or the Top of the Pops performace of RnRS. Flawless, earth shattering. Listening to them on the 2005 tour was excruciating.

I'd say 1995 to 1997, though 1999 was amazing, even though it was a short year for gigs. As for the 2000s, I'd say 2001 was noteworthy, namely for all the new songs we got back into the set list that we got to hear him sing And 2008/09 for the noteable return to form.

1995/96 was unbelievable awesome. I'm actually not that keen on '94, just not rocky enough although he could reach the high notes like singing the falsetto off live forever. '97 was like the WTSMG era but cutting the notes more, '00 even more so.

Personally i love his voice in 2000-2001, plus most of 2002 tbh, but in terms of his peak no doubt..........1995 for me.
