That's quite stunning; since the BDI album sold pretty well.. That times 3 almost has to be number one, isn't it? I kinda expect it to be..

I havent pre ordered but thats +5 cos I distribute to my homies. Id be surprised if Noel nagged #1 on the charts but with the ways reviews are going who knows? Hes also been getting serious coverage here in the states which is exciting. Huffington Post has a Gallagher story every week plus RS

BDI were only #3 behind Adele and Jessie J. Both of which were big albums this year. At least my impression is that Jessie J has had significant success. Sadly, it'll probably depend on the interest in Matt Cardle. haha. If his album is massive Noel might miss out. Be nice if Cardle pulled a Jessie J and moved the album release up a week.

Looking good so far Liam is going to get a lot of shit over him when Noels album is out. 99% of reviews will compare it to Beady Eye's and bring them down..

Yeah I think the same. =S But I hope that that will be because Noel's album is going to be sublime, while BDI's album is just good. Hopefully they won't degrade DGSS to *shit* because it isn't.

Knowing some journalist, they probably will. I certainly don't think that DGSS is a bad album To me a decent, sometimes good listen. But I have the feeling that many journalist will severly degrade Beady Eye's stuff. Especially if Noel's album is head an shoulders above theirs.

Yeah you're already seeing a bit of media backlash on BDI. They're mentioned in nearly every Noel article and interview and people are already starting to put them down. It could get ugly. BDI are gonna have to step it up for the 2nd album if Noel's turns out as good as early reviews.

No sense of urgency in music anymore. BDI should make more tunes in the vein of Four Letter Word. I think they need to be heavier.

Just curious so I took a peek at the preorder charts again.
Noel is #4 on Amazon. #1 on HMV.

I would've, but it won't let me, so I'm checking my other options. Looks like it's between these two as I've heard negative things about play.com.
^Ha, posted while I was typing - I've heard they sometimes deliver early and sometimes a few days after release date, so I don't want to risk it.

Not surprised. I brought the BDI album out of loyalty I admit but I've played it once maybe twice and couldn't tell you how any of the songs sound. There one about a roller I remember, it's "ok" but my pre orders for NG is in ( itunes Australia) and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
I think the next BDI album will be better not just rushed out for the sake of it...

In a nutshell; Liam has the swagger, but had to prove to punters that Beady Eye had decent 'choons'. The material wasn't bad, but not innovative/good enough to grip the desired wider audience Liam craved.
Everybody knows that Noel's songwriting legacy is 'where it's at': this well-established quality is more than enough to guarantee him a handsome return.
Noel can continue to live in a stately pile; if anyone will be looking for digs at cardboard city, it's more likely to be Liam in five years time or so.

Neither Gallagher will be looking for cardboard boxes in this lifetime.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Liam would have anything he wanted even if he retired in 96
Although rumours did surface of him being broke around the time of his split with Patsy but I was never convinced

The two of them combined were worth 50M pounds in 2008 and Liam's clothing range is probably giving him a decent paycheck to supplement the more modest BDI ones.
Guarantee you Noel's still got more, though.
