Looking forward to this! I bet it won't get played on Radio 1 much as the controllers on that station are absolute bellends with no knowledge of music whatsoever.

OMG. after all this time. Music from Noel. This is gonna be great.
I hope he will do an interview to launch it! And I hope we get the video up at the same time. Interested what Noel is gonna do for videos because I doubt it'll just be videos of him playing.

B listed on 6 Music and nowhere to be seen on Radio 1, which isn't a massive surprise.

I thought Noel Gallagher and Oasis were big in the UK? Why isn't he getting the attention?

There would have to have been substantial interest in this song beforehand for it to make Radio 1. And how often does that happen for 'debut' artists?
If this song proves really popular, it'll be on Radio 1 in no time. If it's not, it won't.

I thought Noel Gallagher and Oasis were big in the UK? Why isn't he getting the attention? Radio 1 is predominately focused towards new music and new artists although big established acts can sometimes make it (Coldplay being a good example). If this were a new Oasis single it might very well have got onto the playlist, but this isn't Oasis. It's worth pointing out however, that Radio 2 has more listeners than Radio 1 and they've put it straight onto the A list, meaning it'll be amongst their 10 or 15 most played songs over the week. Likely to stay this way up until release as well, unless it goes down like a lead balloon.

^^ true but unfortunately Radio 1 pretty much determines the top 40 due to all the souless sheeple kids that "buy" what they play, Radio 2 gave BDI a very fair reign and that went nowhere
That is of course for anyone who gives a shit about the charts these days anyway, i dont but love seeing a rock act break the top ten i cant lie

And kids will always make the chart. That's just fact and has been ever since the pop explosion of the 60s. Oasis has split and so has the fanbase in some cases. Beady Eye have had to get their head round these facts and I wouldn't be surprised if Noel has to in 6 months time.

Surprising to see it go straight to the A-list. As for Radio 1 listeners, enjoy listening to your Owl City and David Guetta. Poor bastards.

I know this isn't about the charts, but since the topic has been brought up, I have a feeling -if The Death of You And Me is not a complete disaster, which it won't- that it will chart pretty high. Probably top 5. Just a hunch.

If it has chart success...usually the pop music stations will give it a spin, won't they?

If it has chart success...usually the pop music stations will give it a spin, won't they? You'd think so... but no. I'm a big fan of Morrissey, and he released Irish Blood English Heart in 2004 and it got to number 3 in the charts but Radio 1 didn't playlist it at all.

Not bothered about chart positions but I reckon absolute radio will give it good airplay. just heard a promo for TDOYAM with Noel talking about the guitar incident at the press conference played over the intro to supersonic. They've mentioned it a few times and they always like to play some Oasis and even a small bit of Beady Eye.

Hmm if it's on the radio 2 playlist commencing on the 23rd of July, does that mean we might hear it on Saturday?

No, because they already have a premiere date/time for the track. We will hear it on Monday and no earlier.
