Really? What part of the midwest? My best friend grew up in IL before moving out here to NH. South Bend, IN. It sucks. The only thing going for it is it's proximity to Chicago. Well you did have Notre Dame, I suppose. And Indiana also has The 500, The Colts, John Mellencamp, James Dean's gravesite, and bad taxi drivers if you happen to be Noel Gallagher. Yeah now that you mention it, it does kinda suck. (kidding, I'm kidding)  |

(kidding, I'm kidding) You forgot to mention Michael Jackson (Gary), Axl Rose (W. Layfayette) and David Letterman (Indianapolis/Muncie).  I hate Notre Dame. Cannot stand them. And speaking of Mellencamp, he used to come into the grocery store I worked at in Bloomington. Saw him once, but never said anything. He's got a house/recording studio outside of town, so he'd always pop up around Bloomington. |

Growing up in southern NH/northern MA, we have a pretty large supply of Irish people living here so we used to have a lot of Notre Dame fans (perhaps the people that migrated north from South Boston). But I am with you - I never liked them. For some reason, I always cheered on The U. of M. Wolverines *shrug* I knew Letterman and The Jacksons were from Indiana, but you stumped me on Axl. But hey, better than NH. I grew up in a town called Salem, NH, where Pam Gidley (voted the most beautiful woman in the world while in some goofy TV pageant some 25 years ago) was from and which pretty much is where Godsmack was born. Please don't hold it against me though. I despise them! |
