Who's going to the Beady Eye show in Philly on the 25th?
Can anyone recommend any nearby hotels with reasonable prices?
Is anyone going to a nearby bar or pub beforehand?

^^ Just about to ask the same question.
The tickets say 9pm, but is that when BDI are on or is that when the doors open? And what time does everyone recommend getting there in order to get close to the stage?

Just talked to someone from Ticketmaster. They don't know the exact time the doors will open, but said they almost always open 1.5 hrs before the event, so that would be at 7.30.
That sounds about right.
Don't you think getting there at 330 is a bit crazy? I don't know how it's done in Philly, but every gig I've been to in DC I have arrived no earlier than when the doors first opened and always managed to get pretty damn close to the front.....

I'm not planning on getting there super early. My girl and I will probably go out for some food and a few drinks when we get into town, then head to TLA around the time doors open. I'd love to get close, but then again, it's a small venue so I'll be happy to be there in general.

The tickets say 9pm on them....You'd think that other than us hardcore fans would even think about showing up 1.5 hrs earlier than that. But then again, who in Philly would know of BDI to spend $50 per ticket unless they knew of the band prior?

Ok, I'm exhausted (it's 12:30am), but here goes. So I got to the venue at 7.20pm. I was pretty early, so I knew I would get a great standing section. I then see a woman who looks very familiar. She looks like JennySupersonic. I also thought I recognized her husband from the Oasis: What's Your Story documentary done last year. I eventually decided to apprehensively and awkwardly approach her to find out if this was true. It was indeed. In fact, Jenny was the very first person in line. How's that for devotion! In any case, nice meeting you Jenny! About 20minutes later, there was a rumor that the band arrived, and that a few members were right around the corner. About a group of less than 10 people (surprisingly small amount!) rushed to see if this was the case. I wanted to know what the commotion was about, and thankfully I did. Who do I see? None other than Gem standing right in front of me, and Andy to my left. I was fumbling around: I had nothing that he could sign, but aha! I had a camera phone. Gem started to walk off, and seemed like he was just about to call Andy and tell him it was time to move on. Just before he could open his mouth, I called out "Gem! Gem! Can I get a picture with you?" He responded: "Sure, man." As genuine and as nice as you can get. I have always appreciated Gem. So I got my picture taken with my favorite non-Gallagher member. I am notorious for closing my eyes in photos, and this was no different (because I like what I see, with my eyes shut!). And while I do look bad, I don't even care. This was amazing, and very much surreal. In fact, a woman after me had me take a picture of her and Gem. I was literally shaking! I was still shaking when I resumed my place in line. You never know how you're going to react in those situations, but I was literally starstruck. What a moment. As for the gig itself, it was a mixed experience. The doors opened at 8. Before it got going, I somehow ended up standing and eventually talking to the woman who took the photo for me, and I for her (funnily enough) and her husband about Oasis. It was brilliant to be surrounded by people who were just as passionate. I was at the very front - about 1 person in front of me throughout, but I was essentially at the barrier. How US gigs work is that the first few rows are mental, while after that everyone is subdued. While I have been to many gigs before, and got close, this was the first time I experienced moshing. It was ok, until these big overly drunk guys showed up and started pushing everyone out of the way. So much so, that I thought I would be snapped in half! And this one idiot kept yelling "ahhhhhh" right into my ear while Liam was singing. He subsequently took off his shirt, and threw it at Liam leading him to being kicked out - to everyone's pleasure. Things settled down after that. For the record, Liam was sounding on top form. I had to leave early to get the last train home, so I missed TMS, WigWam, and SOTS - all 3 I wanted to see, but no bother. In fact, meeting Gem was the highlight, and I would have even been fine leaving then! What an amazing and surreal night. If I wake up tomorrow morning and find out this wasn't real, it really would have been a wind up dream! This has more than made up for the time I got the cheap Oasis tickets in Camden NJ in 2008, where I was situated in one of the very last rows of the venue. Proper chuffed. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Just got in as well. Decided, on a whim, to make the drive from NYC to Philly to see them again.
Good show again, thought the crowd was more into it tonight than at Webster Hall on Thursday and the band seemed to feed off it a little more. Could be wrong but that's how I feel.
Met Sharrock at an outdoor cafe beforehand. Got a picture with him, seemed like a nice guy. 2 minutes later I walked across the street and literally walked into Andy, Gem and Jeff. Asked them for a pic and Andy and Gem were ridiculously nice and stopped for a shot. Jeff seemed aloof and kept walking. I don't even think he realized Gem and Andy had stopped!
All in all, fun night!!!

Drove up from D.C. for the show. Should've sent out a feeler, NL4E, and you could've paid my tolls.
After stopping at casinos all the way up, I got down towards South Street by 6pm. Parked the car and went to browse some of the record shops I had seen driving down South Street. Walked into Repo Records and was irritated there was a gaggle of people in the front of the doorway seemingly not moving. I gave 'em a second to be polite, and looked at the CD's right at the front, but after wanting to push past to get to the O section to see if they had any out of print singles, I looked up and it was Andy and Gem chatting with two fans! What a surprise.
I then looked around the store and saw Jeff and the keyboard player was in there as well, along with their minder (who looked close enough, but I assumed wasn't Scully). For whatever reason, I too got really nervous, and didn't want to "bother" the guys by whigging out. I just acted as if I was browsing records and basically watched them for 5-10 minutes while they browsed.
I thought a good way to break the ice would be humor. So, as Gem was passing me by to go out the door I pulled out my ticket and asked "Y'all need a ticket for the big show tonight?". They got the joke and gave me a "Nice one". I told 'em I had come from DC and wished 'em luck and got a "cheers".
I then sorta followed them out on the street to see if they would lead me to paydirt, aka the tour bus with Liam on it. They went one block further west to another record shop, and then back towards the venue. After saying hello I couldn't really follow them too closely because they now knew I was a fan. I sat at a window booth of Steve's Steaks and snapped a photo as they walked back.
I had met Noel, Alan, Gem, and Andy outside the Chicago gig in 2002. Meeting Noel was paramount. Seeing Andy and Gem again was a thrill, but I wasn't an awe, nor thought asking the true questions I'd want to ask about Oasis would be appropriate. I still am dying to meet Liam. I think he's hysterical in his interviews and would truly be a very interesting guy to ask a few fan questions to.
Buuuuttt....back to the gig. Thought it was a great gig. I didn't think the crowd were too into it, but Liam seemed to pay us a lot of compliments. It was a great sized venue to see some of your heroes in. The stage was elevated enough that seeing Liam from the back was no sweat.
I thought Kill For A Dream seemed to slow down the set a little too much. Whatever b-side was played in the early part of the set got a subdued, "we've never heard this" from most everyone.
For the highlights...I thought Wigwam and Morning Sun were mind-blowing. Wigwam could really be a monumental closer if they didn't have the tradition of closing with a cover. Morning Sun was awesome, the stage for the most part was too small to accommodate the full breathe of their visual effects, but the psychedelic stuff for MS worked great. I still love For Anyone in the set, even if Liam sounds like he struggles. Man of Misery was AWESOME surprise.
Overall, I thought Liam sounded really good. It looked like Andy and Gem are really vitalized, with their getting to contribute harmonies and play hardcore on their own songs. Jeff seems to be in it for some songs and not so much for some other songs. I don't know nothing about drumming but Sharrock looks cool enough.
While I didn't go to the gig as excited as I would've had it been an Oasis gig, and while I've stopped drinking and can't get my hands on any reefer with a new job, the whole bit of running into the guys and just being in the same room as Liam Gallagher for the first time since Las Vegas 2008 was very uplifting. Merchandise was priced reasonably and I bought more than I normally would. Didn't realize how perturbed I'd get a drunk idiots calling out for Oasis songs. Sure the guy didn't hear them anyways.
Awesome gig. My only hope is that I get a work transfer to the West Coast in time to catch them in November.

Hey NL4E, My friend (tall balding guy wearing a sky blue old-logo Oasis shirt) and I were standing next to you the whole gig, we were talking before the show started! We also met Gem and Andy before the show and had our picture taken with them, top guys both of them! How come you had to leave the show early? I also live in DC and took the 12.30am Amtrak from 30th St station. At first we thought we would end up getting a cab to the train station, but we had enough time to walk to the 5th Ave metro station, catch the wrong metro, get off and then catch the correct one, and we still arrived at 30th st station at like 12.10a. Anyways, the end of the show was the highlight for me. Wigwam and TMS were surreal. Nice meeting you, and your girlfriend (who appeared to be a bit less happy to be there than the rest of us )!

Haha small world. I had to leave early to get the last train back to my parents home (in the suburbs of Philly). I got back to DC today, though. I was gutted on missing the last 3 songs, as they are my favorites, but I had no option. Also, that was my sister who accompanied me - she's not really a fan, but she agreed to go. She did like TBGO, though. How did you enjoy it? What did you think of those heavily drunk guys? Anyway, it was nice meeting you, too! Enjoyed talking with you and your friend and the other couple prior to it starting.

Small world indeed. I don't know why I thought she was your gf, sorry bout that!
After the morning son ended (last song of the set, before the encore) Liam took the microphone and gave it to the girl we were talking to (who was with her husband) it was an epic moment.
I was rather annoyed by those drunk guys, but ended hugging one of them during TMS I think hahaha, the power of music brought us together.
It was really exciting to see them in such a small venue and running into Gem and Andy on the street; I was so starstruck after that, and after watching Liam so close that I even got a Pretty Green shirt today hahaha (it was on sale, though. Their prices are ridiculous).
Are you in DC proper or VA or MD?

I had a blast at the show! I had only been to Philly once before and I was about 12, so coming back for a rock and roll show gave me a chance to really enjoy the city and I was very much impressed -- particularly with the cool neighborhood that TLA was in.
We grabbed dinner at one place, drinks at the Blarney pub next door to TLA, and went in for the show at about 9:20. There was plenty of room to move up and get a pretty great view about halfway up the right side of the floor. It was also nice to strike up random conversations with Oasis/Beady Eye fans. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood and ready to rock it with Liam and the guys.
The music didn't disappoint. The band sounded as perfect musically as I've ever heard a band play live, the sound mix was terrific, and I was particularly struck by just how powerful Liam's voice is in person.
Bounced around to a few bars after the show to cap off the night, and we were really pleased with the whole experience. So glad I went, and it sounds like everyone else on here had an awesome time too!

Ha, I was wearing the same exact shirt NL4E..
The concert was awesome. I didn't get to meet any of the guys like it seems everyone else did but it was worth the trip up from Baltimore regardless. Like I said in the other thread I thought Two of a Kind was a pleasant surprise. I hadn't heard it since it first came out but I like the rockier version. Wigwam was the highlight for me, just amazing. Also The Morning Sun. Four Letter Word and The Roller had great energy from the crowd. I couldn't be happier to get to see the band so up close. I look forward to seeing them again when they get more material.
