nah, man! I never cared much for Champagne Supernova......kinda never understood why everybody loves it so much. I actually think Better Man and Roll It Over are better closers for an album as well......but for me, Soldier On is just a perfect ending to the entire Oasis back catalogue. Symbolic even......never die. DIg Out Your Soul is my 3rd favourite Oasis record........after Definitely Maybe (#1) and Be Here Now (#3). i'm personally sick of people berating it. "Soldier On" is THE finest closure to any band's discography i know of.....i fookin love that tune. You don't find "Champagne Supernova" bringing Morning Glory to a close better? Slow drum fade out. The lights of the party dimming. One gulp of alcohol left.

Better man and soldier on better than CS? I like both of them but to me Champagne supernova is one of the main songs that defines Oasis at their prime

I like both of them but to me Champagne supernova is one of the main songs that defines Oasis at their prime for me Champagne Supernova was a massive let down. They'd gone all soft. It seemed like a 'pop' song rather than a rock and roll song. It appealed to fraternity kids here in the US who thought it was a drinking song.....eek. songs like Soldier On and Better Man have a groove...they have attitude....they have balls! Champagne Supernova has no balls...much like the rest of "What's The Story Morning Glory" .

CS starts off soft but picks up half way through, and I love the solo towards the end.
Thats just my opinion though. I like both Soldier on and better man but they're a bit repetitive

Just listened to this album again..it really is amazing, only thing I would have changed would probably be to include Come on outside instead of the nature of reality or aint got nothing

I honestly loved this album when it came out, for me it blew the memories of HC away and was much better than DBTT. However it has declined rapidly in my estimation.
The first half is incredible, the best opening collection of tracks since MG but the second half is dire. The thing which annoys me most is Noel has come out and said STC and Record Machine were ready for this album but Liam was being lazy or something so they decided to release it anyway without them (would Liam have even sang STC's?!). My point is why release something for the sake of it when you know it's not the best you can do??? So what if it takes a few months extra? If it makes the album better then do it!
Just shows how little they gave a shit I don't really get that either. If I were them, I'd release it when it was finished, and when I had everything on there that I wanted to have on there, and when I was content. Well, clearly they were, otherwise they wouldn't have released it. I wonder if Noel regrets that now? I don't really mind it, I like the way STC and RM have turned out on his solo album, although it's a bit ruined by the production. Also, I have to agree with Lennon2217 on the album closer. The End is a waaay better career closer than Soldier On.

Stop the clocks and record machine would have ruined DOYS imo..boring songs I'd have liked Record Machine on it, but not Stop The Clocks. The latter has never sat right with me. Probably because it was built up so much between 2002 and 2008. The song had too much to live up to. I still prefer the demo to the shitty, cheesy version found on HFB.

Come on outside and I believe in all should have replaced TNOR and Aint got nothin I've said it probably two dozen times since 2008 but "Boy With The Blues" should have ended Dig Out Your Soul. It pisses me off that songs like Come On Outside, Record Machine and Boy With The Blues had to sit on the sideline when Oasis really needed to be releasing their BEST tunes. Why hold back? They had no more albums left in them, the end was near long before the plum incident.

It pisses me off that BWTB was only a mere bonus track, great tune, not even a b-side status it had.

this dude made an edit of the album.. in fact he did for all Oasis albums. he's up for it and is a loyal fan. he's good. (should have switched for The Turning version Lennon2217 just posted anyway. kinda like it, it's fresh, I don't know know. another perspective for the last Oasis set of songs... WITHOUT thinking and over-analyse it.
just press play, lay down, close your eyes and ENJOY... yes.. ENJOY.
and I would have kept To Be Where There's Life.. live version is a monster but I actually like how they played it on the album.

and just thinking clearer -he shouldnt have touched first half of the album. I still think it's the best set of songs in a row Oasis came up since SOTSOG. then would come BWTB, Come Out Outside, LDSMD oh and Stop The Clocks, Record Machine, Believe In All, Swollen Hand Blues (man, seriously, what have they done? this album could have been HUGE.) they fucked it up big time.

Bag it up The turning Waiting for the rapture The shock of the lightning I'm outta time Falling down The Boy with the Blues Come on outside To be where theres life I believe in all Soldier On
I dont agree with how he changed most of the albums though..even though I enjoyed listening to them.
DM should have included Cloudburst too, listen up and whatever were good additions which would have probably made it the best album of all time.
WTSMG agree with Acquiesce, dont agree with Boneheads BH even though I love it..replace it with Hello.

"DOYS is fucking awesome"
I agree with ya. Your ranking of the albums is pretty similar to mine.
