Sad day.
A STATEMENT FROM NOEL 28 August 2009
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.
"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

It's crazy it took to this point of the tour for the wheels to come off. Right in the home stretch.

No way would it be a joke. I cant believe it. I'm fucking heart broken. Oasis are part of my life.
Noel is the heart of this band. They can't go on.

Oasis have pulled out of their second festival appearance in a row tonight (August 28).
The band were due to play at Paris' Rock en Seine festival but did not take to the stage as planned.
According to eyewitnesses in the crowd, a message appeared on the festival's big screens saying the performance had been cancelled due to an "altercation".
Scottish singer Amy MacDonald, who also played the event, claimed via Twitter the band "cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel's guitar, huuuge fight!"
It is understood Madness took their place.

Not being funny but noel has left the band about three times in the past, including issuing a statement in about 2000 saying he would never play abroad with oasis again.he'll be back!

how long do you think it'll take for liam to realize that he isnt worth shit without noel? I doubt that he has the chops to put out a decent album on his own. He needs Noel. Noel doesn't need him; i'm sure he could have a successful solo career. I hope this doesn't last. Oasis is fucking awesome. I would love for Noel to do ONE solo album.

This is idiotic. To quote Noel when Bonehead and Guigs left, "Who voluntarily leaves Oasis?" There is so much money and admiration on the line that it just seems petty to just call it a day. They are part of rocknroll history! Seriously, get it together!

I'm curious where the rest of the Oasis camp stands in this. Would Gem and Andy (along with Liam) carry on without Noel? Take over song writing duties, or is the loyalty with Noel?
Certainly some interesting things to come of this. It could really go in so many directions. Oasis may be no more which is tough to swallow, but the side project/solo album possibilities are endless.

Probably they wont play live in the next 3 years and then come back, but if Noel decision is final, I would pay to see a band with andy, gem and liam anyday
