Fuck.. the tour was just a little bit to long Shouldn't have been a tour AT ALL. Noel should have dragged the band back in the studio, finished the album properly, released FALLING DOWN as the first single and ensured a decent video was made for it. Studio band only from now on. They're great live but a tour just puts too much pressure on Noel and Liam's relationship.

hopefully the dust will settle, and there relationship will improved over time, i can't imagine how strained it gets whilst on tour for 13 months or more, let the much talked about Noel solo happen, the hype in 18 months maybe 2 years will be about getting Oasis back together, Knebworth 2011 could be the next time we see them back together!
Keep The Dream Alive!

My day was going so well too...
What can I say, I'm completely devastated, it's hard to really believe it even though it has come right from the Chief himself. I'm feeling conflicting emotions, for the most part due to my inability to grasp a concept of Oasis not being around. They've been a staple of my life since I've come to know them. My favourite rock n' roll band splitting up? 'Someone tell me I'm dreeeeaaaaming..'
At the same time I can't say I'm at all surprised. The snide cheapshots at each other over social networks and blogs is pretty bad for brothers of 40 who can't sort out their differences properly without chaos erupting. Is Liam just an inconsiderate twat or is poor old Noel blowing things out of proportion? Who knows. I just hope to God they get it together, for the most part I think they will. In the meantime I'd like to remain optimistic and maybe see Noel bang out this solo album while he has the chance. Some people suggested appearances from Weller, Marr and Brown too, that'd be brilliant. As for Liam. God knows..his heart will always be with Oasis, not that Noel's isn't, but by the looks of it there's only so much Noel can take. I'm just glad I got to finally see them live, twice on this tour. If it's for real, at the very least we have seven storming albums and over 100 fantastic songs to listen to forever, which is more than the Roses diehards have to cling onto. But for now, Definitely Maybe through to Dig Out Your Soul, very loudly..

the only possible good i can see coming out of all of this is now a big weight/pressure is finally off noel's back and he will really focus his songwriting and put out a really good solo album...
other than that, i just don't know where to begin ?
and as far as them never getting back together, never say never.
oasis will rise again, maybe not in the form of now, but they will rise again.

Looking back, Oasis was always there. None of us had to put up with the sibling rivalries or all the other conflicts. We just enjoyed the music and welcomed the revelation that was Oasis. They were the background to our world and the soundtrack to our lives, and because of that they'll live forever with us and without us. great point. personally, for me, whatever shit i have had to deal with in my life,, no matter how bad things have become... i knew that oasis would always be there and i would have the music... now, it seems as though there will not be any new music in the immediate futre... but we will always have the memories and the fantastic back catalouge they are leaving behind... but the presence is gone... fuck, i'm all over the place here,, anyone get what i'm trying to say,, just a bit jumbled up and overwhelmed right now

Let's say it's just Liam, Gem, and Andy now. This is kind of something we should expect from Oasis in the future:
1. Turn Up the Sun 2. Hung in a Bad Place 3. Songbird 4. Love Like a Bomb 5. I'm Outta Time 6. The Meaning of Soul 7. Guess God Think's I'm Abel 8. Keep the Dream Alive 9. Ain't Got Nothin' 10. A Bell Will Ring 11. Soldier On
I'm not trying to make fun of this in any way, and I'm not saying this should be considered or whatever. But knowing what the three have contributed in the past, it's kind of sad to know that this could very well be the new Oasis. Sad, innit?

There's no reason why they still can't play the songs Noel wrote, they're all licensed under the Oasis name anyway. Actually, if Noel is feeling charitable he can still write songs for the band, he just won't perform with them.

After a sleep i still cannot believe it. I just dunno what to say anymore. Nothing but Oasis will be playing from my ipod when i go out today then. Wearing my Oasis t-shirt!

No matter what, and I mean now whatever, ever, happens and no matter how down people might feel about this or anything in life really, they should remember the very thing and spirit of this band and what it promoted. Life itself.
It's why I truly hope no one will have any sinister thoughts.
"Everything's gonna be fine. Stay optimistic. If there's dark clouds coming up, they'll leave again. They always do. The world is round. Everything's round. The biggest invention of all times, the wheel is round. Things pass. Nothing will stay the same forever. No matter in how big a pile of shite you've gotten yourself - be it drugs, financial problems, fucked up relations: you'll get over it. It'll go away just like the weather. The sun is round, so is the planet we live on, marriage rings and our eyes through which we see the world" - NG

Especially people already suffering of depression and such, it might not take a lot to trigger them. I know majority of Oasis fans aren't spookishly devoted in MJ fan kind of way or cases like Nirvana fans but you never know.

So Noel had a big tiff with Liam. A massive tiff. But to get this far and to be doing their biggest tour ever, and to be in the middle of it and have Noel announce he's quitting is just so fucking selfish and unprofessional. What about the fans who have bought tickets to these gigs? Thousands of them? Probably months and months in advance. A fight with a band member is not a good enough reason not to commit to the last gigs of the tour, and I think Noel deserves a slap for behaving like this. Everybody seems to be banding with Noel on this one and slamming Liam, but none of us were there to witness the argument. Noel can see he's got the upper hand in any situation, either in having Liam come crawling back to him because Oasis can't continue without him, or in carrying on as a successful solo artist. I agree that he was probably testing the water with his previous acoustic tour, and ending the band in favour of a solo career is a logical decision for Noel at this time.
I have always been behind Noel rather than Liam, as Oasis is a result of Noel's unfailing dedication and hard work since the very beginning, as well as his savvy in navigating the band, and not to mention his fantastic music. But I think he should have waited until the end of the tour to announce a split. I guess Noel understands better than anyone how Oasis operates, and announcing the end of the band in quiet times just wouldn't have the same effect as quitting during such a big tour. I’m not saying that this is premeditated, but I think the appeal they garner in not playing by the rules gives Noel more license to do what he wants, so he thinks that acting like this is acceptable (“Oh, I’m quitting the band - sorry”). Or maybe he feels he has earned the right to walk away from what he started?
It would be sad to see the end of this monolithically awesome band at any time, but quitting under these circumstances makes them, and especially Noel, look like a child. This may not be the end of the band, but if it is, Noel has gone some way to undermining all his hard work by pulling the plug on it at the spur of the moment because of a disagreement. The sympathy Oasis fans can feel for Noel’s personal situation can only take them so far, because it’s Oasis’ music they’re really there for. It will be interesting to see what happens next.....
