I'm not paying much attention to the titles, they could have been better, they could have been worse, but in a month's time when we're all used to them we won't pay attention anymore... All new titles were a little weird at first but now they're familiar and belong to the Oasis History... I mean how bad was "The Meaning Of Soul" or "Keep the Dream Alive"? (in terms of titles)

Seems kind of funny that they'll be touring before the album is even out. Thats not very Oasis like.

FUCKING BRILL!!! I can't wait for this. Like in the past, people posting up bootlegs, staying up till 4 a.m. to watch live gig webcasts from America, getting smashed when going to see em live. It comes as quick as most world cups but the wait is definately worth it. Bring on the record

Once again Oasis deliver on the fucking atrocious album title front.
I'm also a bit disappointed by the "unmistakably Oasis" comment. That's just a euphemism for same old, same old. I thought this album was going to be a bit different?
Either way I'm still really excited, and I'm obviously in the minority in thinking that The Shock of The Lightning is a great song title.

Once again Oasis deliver on the fucking atrocious album title front. I like most of Oasis' album titles. Everything from Definitely Maybe through Heathen Chemistry is top notch. Don't Believe The Truth and Dig Out Your Soul, however, are indeed 'fucking atrocious'. Fucking hard work though, album titles. I've spent the last three years trying to come up with a perfect album title for my band - you know, just in case - and I'm still staring at a blank page.

People. People. Come on. Quit complaining about the song title and the album title. It is going to be a fine album.
ITS OASIS.
For being a rock n' roll band, they are one of the best if not the greatest ever.
Just wait.

my word, talk about stupid comments. the title of the album should encapsulate the essence of the songs on it, how can you possibly comment on the title when you haven't heard the songs on the album. to quote noel... "I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel.” hence the album title.

The more the music industry is moving towards online releases etc. it could be that the band releases the album few weeks earlier online for people to listen for free, like they did with DBTT on the NME site.

what makes an album title good or bad. Isn't the title just so you can find it in the record store?

Here is Noel talking on BBC Radio 2 about his 3 songs www.savefile.com/files/1631299It sounds like that might be part of a longer interview, but I haven't heard the rest: that bit just came up on the general music news on Ken Bruce's show

Interesting short interview. The Stooges doing Fools Gold? That I have to hear. Also the fact they were written in a very specific tuning and around basslines sounds interesting. I'm thinking some hard slide guitar in the vein of Love Spreads by The Stone Roses.

I'm thinking some hard slide guitar in the vein of Love Spreads by The Stone Roses. Oh I fucking love Fools Gold! This should be interesting. I also have a very very strong feeling that we will hear songs that use the same type of bass from Guns (Ruff Mix) and Echoes Round The Sun. The real heavy type of bass! The other songs sounds really interesting too!

Got the same feeling, Kenneth. The Stooges doing Fools Gold might be "The shock of the lightning".

Very intriguing. Noel's new songs sound like they will have a bumper sound.
