i read somewhere that this film will be suitable for newcomers to the whole x-files thing so the teens who never heard of the show will not need to watch all the DVD sets to get caught up first. not sure if that is a good or bad thing at this point...

I mean, it won't continue from where they left off

Ok, I'm confused now - I stopped watching it around series 5 I think, but I thought Mulder had died in it, that's why they brought the T-1000 in. So how did it end up then? Also, I find it hard to take any film seriously that has the Big Yin in it.

Second one was terrible. Not because of the lack of Doggett but the 'SCULLLLLLY!!!!!' REALLY annoyed me.

I loved xfiles back in the day. I bought bootleg dvds from china off ebay because the US boxsets were so expensive Loved the first movie. Show fell off the rails a bit at the end. Still havent watched the second movie. I tried a few yrs ago but dozed off. Gonna try and watch it before the season starts on Sunday. Damn some of the old episodes were creepy as fuck.

Personal favorites that come to mind:
Blood Detour Quagmire Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose Milagro E.B.E. Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man Field Trip Ice Triangle Lord of the Flies The Goldberg Variation The Unnatural Arcadia
I was really impressed with the first movie because it was so accessible; you could watch it having never heard of the X Files and still get a lot out of it, but there were still plenty of things for the hard base to dig into.
Second movie was nice for the nostalgia and seeing Mulder and Scully look at a portrait of Bush etc, but it was really just a ho hum monster of the week episode. So I'm glad this mini season will deal with the mythology.
Never read the "season 10" comics. Don't suppose they'll be heavily referenced.
