was innocent, poor bloke, hope the english establiment dont start pullin the same tricks they pulled with the guildford 4 dont come of with that fuckin crap - totally different situation - anyway if they had shot the giulford4 and the birmingham 6 etc,etc then we would be none the wiser. the britsh goverment now want to start dealing with terrorist or suspected terrorist the same way the israelis deal with it - shoot to kill - no question asked just remember this bloke was challeanged twice to stop,he chose to run, why? if he was innocent then he should have stopped - so the police acted correctly fair point don, but soppose to some people if they have a gun put on them its human nature to run for some, but the london police have been brillient in recent weeks and they proably had good reasoning to shoot at him, he shouldnt have ran, i what i meant for from the frist post was, they just rus h to arrest people so as not to cause bad press, but thats more to do with the man arrest near downing street rather than this incident

an innocent man has lost his life - shot FIVE times in the face from point blank range. some peope are nodding their heads saying it was justified and had to be done... and that angers me greatly. let's not focus on the fact that the incompetent officers had a split second to decide whether to shoot him or not - let's ask why they allowed a man they suspected of terrorist involvement (and under surveillance) leave his house in his 'suspicious clothing' and travel on a bus to the tube station. if he was a suicide bomber, why let him get on a bus? we've already seen it happen to a bus havent we? secondly, when a suicide bomber sets off their bomb, they throw themselves over the bomb on the ground - this appears to be standard practice and etiquette for suicide bombers! in this case the deceased supposedly tripped onto the floor in what may well have been in the same manner as explain above - ergo he would have already set off his bomb. so shooting him wouldnt have made fuck all difference. i despair when i read/hear people saying well it was a lose-lose situation for the police and the murderer (aka police officer) acted dutifully because lives were at stake. dont be such a simpleton - the facts are that one man was on the floor with 5 armed policemen surrounding him and he then proceeded to take 5 bullets to the face at point blank range. 1 bullet? sure. 2 bullets? erm...fine. 3 bullets? ok now you're pushing it! BUT FIVE? the officer panicked. he didnt know what to do and panicked. I'd like to see the family of the deceased get a fat cheque from the government, a public apology from Blair and Charles Clarke, the resignation of the Police Chief of the Met and face to face apology from the murder in uniform. before he goes to prison to serve a life sentence. don't lose sight of the fact an innocent man died here. killed in cold blood. not dangerous, not a terrorist and not armed. shot 5 times in the face. incompetence of the highest degree.

were the police undercover? As far as i know they were, in which case if he was called to stop, he may well have thought they was thugs, not really having time to think things thru and all in the heat of the moment
But on the other hand, they followed him from his home, they wouldn't do that if they weren't suspicious of something? It seems that there's a lot we don't know (& may never know) about
This is fucked up tho

yeah the police were undercover - but when a undercover policeman challanges someone they have to state that they are police, so he would have known they were police

whole things fucked up, will all eventually come out, the police must have had a reason to follow him? did they ever say it was related to terrorism or was that just an assumution, might be something completely different

The guy was brazilian and the british government is gonna have to deal with it coz he was innocent and shit. But two points have to be yet clarified:
*When the police asked him to stop, why the fuck did he run away? *What's with the first reports saying that he was armed if he wasn't?
Don't believe the truth

yeah the police were undercover - but when a undercover policeman challanges someone they have to state that they are police, so he would have known they were police Second of all is that if he's not in his uniforms and he's armed and if you're innocent, how the hell will you know that the guy's talking to you? Imagine the panic after the guy pulls out the gun. I would run just like everybody else..

why is there such a big inquiry into this - they suspected him as a terrorist - if this was israel, france, united states this story would have been out the news headlines after a day.
i was the forces and in situations were a split second decision has to be made - its a hard decision to make and sometimes it goes wrong and innocent people are killed. but as has been said why didnt he stop ? and why was he under surveilance?

I heard on the news that they were supposed to be watching someone who lived in the same block of flats as the Brazilian guy, a case of mistaken identity apparently. One major cock-up. Thing is, why did they let this guy get on a bus if they thought he was away to blow himself up?
As for armed police identifying themselves when in plain clothes, dont they put police caps on for that?

Oh come on! Innocent people probably get shot in Brazil on an hourly basis. Oughta tell their ambassador to fuck off. so we have a fucking terrorist here in live4ever. innocent people are shot every time all around the world and that doens't give the police the right to kill anyone else, even if it really was a terrorist. the police job is to catch the suspects, not kill them, unless there isn't a way of catching them. in this case there was a clear way o avoiding death. so the guy ran away... shoot him in the leg, he certainly would have stopped. it's obvious that a mistake was made by the police and the autorities of the man's country have to interfer, no matter which country is that. it's really sad to see that there are people in the world that think like that
