I was watching a doc about Thailand's child prostitution on PBS. You know the world so worry about Africa so much and hardly say anything about this long problem of child prostitution in places like Thailand. These girls basically get kidnapped from China and other place. Then end up in Thailand. Sometimes parent's of these girls think it's no different than they worked in factories or any other normal job. Many these kidnappers take the girl's ID cards and all.
Cuba is another place where child prostitution is happening. Just watching this doc does something to you. This problem can be stop a lot more faster than issue in Africa and it's so ignored by people around the world. It should be stop really and you know women from Sweden, UK, US, and other places sit there and complain about not having equal rights. Why women can not stand up for their fellow women and stop a serious issue such as this?

yeah, Africa has been getting alot of attention, but isnt it the poorest continent? Why should we complain that one country is getting aids. Its all terrible, and any efforts anywhere shoould be appreciated.

I saw something similar not long ago that followed a gang of boys (12-15ish I suppose) around in the Czech Republic, they were homeless, slept in the subway stations, and spent their days turning tricks and huffing spraypaint. Then they showed the ones that come out at night, some even being "pimped" by their parents. The world is sometimes such an ugly place.

Right where's Bono? He'll take care of this. lol!!! my thoughts exactly. Actually Rain, child prostitution also occurs in the states, sad to say. Unfortunately it is everywhere and people love to prey on the young and innocent.

if pedophiles were stopped Adult entertainment business wouldn't be so popular as much, children don't have long issues that haunt them rest their lives. I'm not talking about the girls either, the boys just as much are victims. I know i was one. It steals the innocence and destroys a child's childhood. It effect them as adult relationships with opposite sex. Many women who were molested as a child for rest their lives have inner hatred towards men and many times they become lesbians due to what happened to them. I think many people want ignore it and the issue of it is getting worse. I mean that poor girl in Florida while back kidnapped and berried alive.

It should be stop really and you know women from Sweden, UK, US, and other places sit there and complain about not having equal rights. Why women can not stand up for their fellow women and stop a serious issue such as this? sure, i agree that women should stand up for it, but men should just as much - if not more. we're all human. its not entirely ignored. i suppose its cos im in the same region so i hear about it more. of course it should stop. not many people would say otherwise - cept for the pimps that make money, and the sickened pedophiles themselves, and the corrupt law enforcers -.- and that too, they probably dont agree, just that they are greedy fucks and its not easy to stop. child prostitution is deeply rooted in the poverty ruts in places like cambodia and thailand - so until you try and get these people out of poverty, help them get jobs, build up infrstructure - there will be desperate people who sell their children, and as rain said, they dont always know where their children end up or for what they are used. and besides, as long as there are sickened pedophiles creating a demand, it is never gonna stop entirely. also that a lot of this sex trade is cos of foreign businessmen (not all, obviously, but a significant proportion....im an expat in singapore and i know that i dont like being clumped in the 'foreigner' section but well, i suppose its issues like this that gives foreigners a bad name in asia) and the like that come and well, indulge in their pedophelic practices cos its easier than in their home countries and leave. im glad to say that recently at least, i just came across an article about US laws(http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2004-02-18-sex-tourists_x.htm) and i think signapore has similar laws or was at least discussing it in parliamant about potential new laws - that hold their citizens accountable as criminals for their participation in the illegal sex trade overseas. for a long i think people have thought they can get away with it cos they are away from their home countries - but its slowly changing. i dont suppose its very easy to enforce, but its hopefully a deterrent anyway
