It's kinda weird when you end up listening to your friends songs not because they're your friends but because you actually really like the music. Love this one, I think it's a brilliant wee tune with a nice melody.
He actually released a new song from his upcoming album today. His producer told him the songs sound a bit similar to Pavement which he hadn't been listening at the time but ended up liking them and coincidentally I had just got into them as well so we've been talking about the band quite often when we've met which is cool

Been really into this song lately The entire album of Japan and their second album are still my favourites, as well as their high quality third album "Quiet Life". Shame that they were way too ahead in late 1970's Britain where punk movements started. "Transmission", "Performance", "Suburban Love", "Television", but especially "Rhodesia" from their second album. Brilliant work by David Sylvian and the boys and don't forget Mick Karn's bass work.

brilliant band mimmihoppsa friend from Belfast who came and stayed with us for summer of '83 made me a treasured mixtape Japan was on there i'd likely have never heard of them in the US otherwise It was really hard for them when they started. 5 guys all wearing make up and their music was’t appreciated by media. It took for them years to be recognised and it happened after they started to work with Ryuichi Sakamoto. Yet for me their first 3 albums were masterpieces. Which song of them was in the mix tape? You’re, in music wise, my soul mate, durk .

Why this reminds me of MONSIEUR Franck Nivard I don't know (not because the band is called Eagles)

I don't know what was going on in the 70's, but this little cockney banger got to #2, so it can't be all bad.

One of my all time Weller favourites and one of his classics.
