Cheers

yeah you timing will click soon mate. I`ve found Powertabs really helpful, they`re set out like Tabs in a book but you can also hear the track, it sounds a bit like a polyphonic ringtone, but its dead good for helping out as you can keep going back to get things right. I`ve got quite a few Oasis tracks that i`ve found off the net (Unfortunately not Songbird though). You`ll need to install the program before you can read the tabs though. s16.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0WD52KF5JVNDB3KS3QYF9VY360

I suggest that you get the audio of Liam and Gem doing that live bit for Radio 1 (the Tsunami relief fund special). Listen to Gem on Songbird. It is the easiest to learn from this version because there is nothin else going on except Gem's guitar. That is how I was able to best emulate the strum pattern of that song.

Try doing this strumming:
o o - - - -
D D D U D U D D D U D U
Through the whole song
o - whole strum - - quick strum
d - down strum u - up strum
Hope this helps....I know how to play but lack on the written/theory part of music as i never took lessons

If you're learning oasis songs, from my experience, the hardest thing for me to learn was Don't Look Back in Anger. I mean that was hard learning that chord progression, but if you get that down really well, you'd be surprised as to how much you can actually play. Oh well, stick to songbird, you'll get the hang of it soon enough.

I'd agree with that about Don't Look Back in Anger. It seems like after I learned that one, I was able to pick up most of the songs in about a day or two. Also, learning Rock n Roll Star and Supersonic are good, because they are fairly easy to work out, and they involve barre chords as well as moving up and down the fret board.

IF YOU PLAY DLBIA DOING THE G WITH ONLY THE FIRST 2 STRINGS(E AND A) AS NOEL OFTEN DOES, SONGS LIKE DLBIA AND SLIDE AWAY BECOME INCREDIBLY SIMPLE. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY HOW TO BAR GOING GROM G TO F AND ALL, BUT IF YOU CHEAT A LITTLE LIKE NOEL DOES OFTEN, IT BECOMES MUCH EASIER!!

I had no idea how to express it either. Good work.

I found the soloing on Bring it own down to be the hardest for me at the time. Easy now though

I think all the timing on Fucking in the Bushes is hard to emulate. That is probably why Noel and Gem never play it live, they play a recording.

Personally I would start with Live Forever, Cast no Shadow, Talk Tonight, Stand By Me and Wonderwall as they are easy for beginners.
All are great acoustic's, use same chords and finger progression is all easy.
Once you get the rhythm you are away.........
Good luck.

i started with songbird, then wonderwall, Cast no shadow, talk tonight, these songs all seem to use the same chords, so makes sense...

Also my personal fave - Whats The Story acoustic - easy, but easily a classic.
Whatever is a piece of piss too but so cool when you slow it down like Noel on MTV Superdry................
I cant stop riffing to Colombia though..............it is still an absolute heavyweight! Boom boom boom.................ave it!

Where Did All Go Wrong, really easy song to play I find. Who Feels Love - easy. Once I get the hang of barre chords I'll be able to Whatever all the way through.

Yeh because you just shape the bulk of the chords around the third fret of the high e and b strings.
Tell ya what though, Sad Song is a beauty to play on acoustic. I am in love with that song, infact I might post a recording of me playing/singing it.

My favorite to play still has to be Cigarettes and Alcohol. I love cranking up my Les Paul for this song. I played it last summer with my brothers band and the crowd went nuts.
