i was just wondering what the best programs are to record music (guitar, vocals etc) onto my PC? I know some of you guys have done this to create the MP3s you're all posted - so could you give me some suggestions? i'm looking for recording, editing, special effects programs. Preferably free ones available for download! thanking you in advance

everything is free on kazaa & emule & so on and on they say... cubase is very good but for a start you may as well use cool edit pro. very simple, not so effective but it should do the work for you if you're starting out. post what you do then and good luck & a lot of good music!

cakewalk is excellent but it's very professional, would not recommend it to start with.

im not exactly sure about this one, but i have heard that guitar pro is good guitar pro is excellent, but its not for recording with its to help you practisce. You download the software and then tabs for it and the software plays the song and your supposed to play along with it.

thanks all! i downloaded Cool Edit (i paid for it of course ) and it seems like a really good program. I've seen Cubase before and its a bit more complicated than what i'm looking for. Cool Edit seems ideal though for now Although i didnt like the virus i accidently downloaded with it....
