Liam's voice in my opinion was best between the MG and BHN period. If I need to make a choice I would go for MG ... or ?

just listen to g-mex 97, that says it all I think he sounds better at Earls Court or Main Road, I have to say. I think he really found his voice just after DM and MG and BHN were when he was really, really fucking amazing. He still pulls out great vocals every now and again, but for me he's too raspy and WHINY a lot of the time now. The last Liam vocal I heard that really made me fall out of my chair was Let's All Make Believe (SCYHO came close, but ultimately I just wobbled a lot without falling out).

Okay, it's clear the best period shouldbe the BHN period. But howcome the album is so underratted weird ... innit ? Cos all the songs last for 8 minutes and are covered in guitar noise! Well, that's the most oft-quoted reason anyway. Personally I think a lot of it was to do with the Beatles comparisons (which Noel has no one to blame for but himself, making them all the time), and the fact that the band didn't push themselves enough with BHN. They were content to sit in thei rpub rock groove and after all the hype people felt let down by the record and the band - and so came the backlash.

Gotta be Morning Glory. Champagne Supernova is the best vocal I think I've ever heard.

with the modern tracks, like lets all make believe, are there any tools used to clean up his voice?

I think ever since BHN they are using tools to clean up the voice. Think it's with every song that's sung on this world recorded in our era has a little clean up. But for Liam I think they really had to work on it after BHN, so from SOTSOG on ... I just wonder, how could his voice be so fucked in the time between BHN and SOTSOG... Three albums with a great voice, on BHN you could hear a bit more of that snearing edge to his voice, but that became far to much since SOTSOG. Is it just because of the cigarretes and alcohol, the length of the tours, his age and the drugs? Can't understand ... that was the time the had a bit of time to relax, and to come down.... how could his voice be so fucked since then? Never heard such a dramatic change in someone voice. I believe when Liam does use his voice much less sneary, he saves his voice, just taking more singing lessons, quit smoking and do less alcohol. I know he did before, but i believe that was just for a while.... I know he can cos I did that to. It really changes your voice if you do that, it becomes more clean again. I KNOW that his voice can become as good as in the BHN era, but he just have to work on that. Liam has to be more serious about his voice. Even his OWN fans think his voice isn't huge anymore.... so Liam: COMMONNNNN ! :-)
