Fun/depressing fact of the day: Many people are still wondering whether Trump is a racist or not. Well, at least he's now helped giving Ocasio-Cortez and others an even bigger platform than before and will become even more popular as a result, so I guess it's not all bad. But still, the stupid fuck can't t get a stroke and die soon enough. Edit: Wow, that Ilhan Omar comment was a new low. Literally calling her an Al Qaeda-supporter, putting her life in danger. This is some scary shit. Edit 2: Quoting instead of editing...

I'm surprised you didn't include the "both" option, at least for your own sake.

The chorus of Lyla is pretty shocking really. All the lyrics in TSOL are appalling. But it's still TSOL for me, even though Lyla is a decent tune. I will always love the melody!

I was listening on shuffle, and didn't recognise this song at first, since it was a while since the last time I heard it. "Ok, when will it start?" I finally thought, and then about two seconds later... "BAM!!!" Those heavenly synths just smacked me right across the face, and it was the very best kind of smack I must say.

As Gallagher's mum, she must love all of Oasis songs. For the sake of Peggy, let's all hope this isn't true.

Buffon returns to Juventus after a year at PSG. Won't be No. 1 again though which isn't a surprise really. So what was the point in him even leaving Juventus in the first place? This comeback is just weird. Once you leave a club like that with all the tears and the speeches that come with it, then you leave and don't come back. You can't say goodbye twice.

Here are the 11 tracks. Meadows is duplicated. As if covering a Springsteen classic(albeit with completely different lyrics and melody) wasn't enough, now he's going to cover Beyoncé too?! This is exciting!!

I will always be that guy raising his hand to say that actually it is a pefectly decent instrumental. And it's not like any instrumental makes or breaks an album anyway. That's fine, I respect your opinion. I skip it instantly but appreciate others may like it. I just think it's fine, but what I meant was just that "fine" is not a word I would use to describe many other songs on the album

I remember someone recently wishing for Liam to do a cover of Gimme Shelter.
Could anyone imagine what that performance would have sounded like? I get nervous thinking about it. The intro would be enough for Mick Jagger to put a gun to his head.

Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley It came to my attention that this album celebrated its 25th birthday tod... well now it's yesterday, and I saw that as reason enough to give it another listen. A few misses and slightly duller moments, but overall it does rock HARD. Gardenia and Whitewater is all I need really, and it's also nice to be reminded of the talents of a young and assertive Joshua Homme. Thoughts asimarx? (I've noticed you've liked my posts a few times when I've posted Kyuss in the "what song are you listening to?" thread ) I loves me some Kyuss. Can’t beat Blues For The Red Sun. x And you can't beat what happens here from 3:02 until 5:53.

I'm so NOT feeling those "aaaah's". Overall, I think that first clip promised more than was delivered.

Come on, this poll is absolutely ridiculous. Why? We have heard at least the last verse, the chorus and the ending of the song. Do you think that the rest of the song will sound completely different? The clip is about 1:20 or something like that (I’m here ignoring the clip of the ”demo” version that seems to include also the first verse and chorus). I don’t think it’s ridiculous to have a poll based on the clip. Why the negative attitude, mate? I don't take it too seriously, but it just seems a bit silly to have a poll about it now. Why not just wait?

Seen the latest from Morrissey Matt? Yep. It’s digging the knife into me now every time I read what he says. It’s really tough to take - the guy was a hero, my favourite frontman and for sure it’s easy to ignore his latest work (his last album and a recent covers album), but to bin his work with The Smiths? That’s a lot tougher, especially with the sentiment I have towards those songs. Johnny Marr is still THE man, as are Rourke and Joyce who come off well, but I worry if Morrissey has poisoned the water too much, especially as I held him in such high esteem. The last year or so, I’ve not listened to The Smiths nearly as much which is sad. I still think they are amazing but it’s just tougher to confront now with that conflicted view. The idea of separating the art from the artist becomes so much more complicated when it’s your favourite act ever. I’ll admit, it’s not as if his lyrics were the lyrics of the most empathetic, morally upstanding soul especially as a lot of his lyrics are quite bitter (as we all can be though), but it’s hard to believe a guy who wrote such sensitive and emotive songs like There Is A Light being the same guy spouting right wing reactionary shit. I'm in the same boat as you(love the Smiths, hate what Morrissey has become), but I don't have this problem at all. Morrissey in the 80's was not the Morrissey of today, and to me that automatically leaves the entire Smiths discography "untouched" and unaffected. It would be a different thing if they would ever reunite(hypothetically, that ship has sailed of course), then I would probably feel a lot more uncomfortable. But even then, those songs were written 30 years ago by a different person.

I kind of liked it when I listened to it before without headphones, but now with them on after hearing this clip another 3 times I can say that I am officially HYPED!!! Seriously, those guitars give some real early Queens of the Stone Age vibes, and since I'm a fan of them that sure doesn't lower my levels of enthusiasm.

Sounds promising! Those guitars sound gritty, gives bit of a stoner rock-vibe almost. Shockwave sounded more polished, this is more like it imo. And to compare sound effects, those echoes following "shout" sounded way better than those awful "hey's" in Shockwave.
