Man hearing that guitar sound unlocks something deep in my soul, long forgotten! Yeah its pretty special. The AI version is good, the song is still shit though. Somehow it’s quite similar to Acquiesce. Not keen on AI versions but this one is very good.

Liam is great on this. Sadly, the song is not there. They could just repeat several times the “to run out of rain” part at the end several times, or something like that. Just give the songs some change, some grit, some structure, something mr.Squire!!

I prefer a third Beady Eye effort Gawd no. Gem stay away from writing songs. Andy stay focused on Ride. The roller is better than anything Squire has written for this album.

Worst Liam album by a margin. And yes, I'm counting all his solo and Beady Eye efforts. Some of the songs he used to write are melodically head and shoulders over what Squire is offering here. Same can be said about some of the Andy Bell offerings. I really hope this is an unpopular opinion. Unpopular and unsurprising I’d imagine I have liked basically everything both brothers have put out both as Oasis, solo, whatever.

That yogurt man is trolling. I’ve been thinking that since the other day. I kept my opinion to myself but the Nickelback post is definitive proof.

As great as Go Let It Out is it wasn't a killer single in the vein of RNR Star, Some Might Say or even Lyla, that is a problem with SOTSOG, no killer single material, americans "didn't get it" I guess. To think that Who Feels Love? was supposed to be the main ballad of the album, I mean, it's not Wonderwall neither Stand By Me, also Sunday Morning Call definitely no DLBIA either, in terms of popular appeal I mean. You can definitely see why SOTSOG wasn't as successfull as the 3 preceding albums, it worried Noel at the time I guess, so he started to write singles material again on both HC and DBTT. Of course it didnt have the same level as the first two. But its hard to keep that level of success. But having been a lot into that era gig wise, i can assure you Oasis was not failing. Maybe in the media (and even that? They were literally everywhere), but at gigs, the frenzy was there. It was a good time HC too. the downfall really began with DBTT. Not the same passion at gigs. Both audience and the band. Lyla was probably their last "big" single. The importance of being idle was big, and the album sold more than the previous ones.

Playing a bit of fantasy this is an alternative SOTSOG track list where you keep the new sonics and add a couple of more anthemic songs that, if I’m not mistaken, were available when the album was recorded:
1- Fucking in the bushes 2- Go let it out 3- Who feels love 4- Put yer money where her mouth is 5- Songbird 6- Little by little 7- Gas panic 8- Let’s all make believe 9- Where did it all go wrong 10- Roll it over
Little James, I can see a liar and Sunday morning call would have made excellent b sides.
Then after that I’d probably remove Heathen Chemistry completely and add Stop crying your heart out and The hindu times to Don’t believe the truth.

I remember the opposite. For me, at the time, Go let it out was a letdown after the glory days. And the general expectation was a lot lower than for the previous albums. It was like the confirmation that the glory era was over. That said Let’s all make believe was a great b side and I also liked Cigarettes in hell. As time passed by I learned to appreciate Go let it out too. You're right about the glory era being over at that point and that the general expectation and anticipation wasn't as high than in the past. Go Let It Out definitely wasn't on the same level than DYKWIM? in my opinion, but it still sounded fresh and very different compared to BHN overall sound and that made me very excited. It's 8/10 to me. And when I bought the single...it was great. Let's All Make Believe is hands down one of their best b-sides ever. I also rate Cigarettes in Hell. Yes. The overall single was the first time a more “mature sounding” Oasis appeared

Have always loved this Song and the CD single...Let's All Make Believe.. both CDs blew me away at the time..Helter Skelter also immense That was a great single and great time. I still remember all that excitement for the new album.

Thanks for the link. I wonder why Oasis never really covered any Stones songs since they were fans of them. Street fighting man

When you're a fan of Oasis and Noel in general as long as me it's very easy to see when he's pushing one of his quite manipulating stories so everyone around him goes along with his narrative. Yet again on Matt's podcast he's pushing the one that he was always so forward thinking musically and Liam held him back. Absolute nonsense. It was only around 2007 onwards Noel started to get bothered by those naysayers who'd call him derivative in his music and tastes. Before that he would gleefully tell you all he listens to is The Beatles, Stones, Bowie, T Rex and some Best Ofs. Fast forward to now and he can't wait to tell you how eclectic he is. Death Of You and Me was so musically different to Oasis that Liam wouldnt have accepted it? Dig Out Your Soul genuinely has more musically interesting moments than Noel's first solo album. The first HFB is Sardy Oasis to a tee. Who is he kidding with this shit? Matt Morgan and and Elton John maybe. Not any of us. I get part of your point but to be fair Noel was in the house and dance scenes well before his Oasis days. In fact I think that he twists more his own story than the Oasis one. He was doing Temper Temper, Teotihuacan and singles with the Chemical Brothers ages ago.

Now everybody tags Beady Eye as boring, uninspired, etc. The real thing is that a good chunk of the first album was very well received here, and that the second one was considered better than the first.
But also the first three Liam solo albums were very well received (specially the first two) and now ppl is saying this is the best he has done since Oasis. Wlall of Glass was extremely well received (and deservedly). Of course, it could be, but I think as time passes by some people will change their opinions.
This new song is OK but I don't find so Oasis-y at all. At least not as Noel's songs. Apart from melody, Noel was a genius in structure. Even in simple songs he always managed to introduce twists, to go from each chorus to different parts each time and thinks like that. This one is NOT that kind of song. And I have a strong feeling many people will discover that as time passes by.
And nothing happens because of this. Song is OK and it's great that some people is enjoying this so much.

Man, It is true that the song sounds like a Gem penned Beady Eye number with a touch of The Good Rebel. Expecting a lot more after hearing the good comments here. The album is shaping up to be Heathen Chemistry without the big hits. Well, HC is a great album. Yeah I like it but imagine it without Hidu times, Stop Crying, Little by little and Songbird...
