This boxing-style back and forth is getting boring. If there was any will to reunite, it would be done in private.

I'm also bored senseless by the Oasis reunion questions but that was absolutely savage and really made me laugh.

I don't really get why interviewers would ask a question that has to be prefaced with "I know you're bored of answering this" to anybody about anything. stop wasting everybody's time lol

I never blamed NG for not wanting anything to do with Liam. And I admired LG for wanting to mend the fences. Now there's finally a chance at reconciliation and LG intentionally fumbles it.

There is no chance of reconciliation. Well, the same chance as there ever was - slim to none. It's posturing - on both sides but especially Noel's. He's made it perfectly clear he has no interest in it but is taking back control of the narrative. He knows the general public will see the headlines or the one minute edited clips shared on social media of him saying 'call me' and shift the blame back onto Liam for not calling. Yet in the same interview he calls him a coward, gives a thinly veiled threat about what will happen and says he would rather continue solo. That's some olive branch. Not sure why some people are taking it literally. Noel has always played the media better than Liam who is far too emotional and hot headed for his own good. I see Liam has taken the 'still love him as he's my big brother' approach this morning which, whilst possibly disingenuous, is exactly what he should have done all along instead of the constant back and forth.

I just find this really sad now. No humour in it now, just bitterness and loathing.
It’s clear that any reunion would only be to cash in so I don’t want that. Would just be nice if they could bury the hatchet rather than wanting to bury an axe in each other’s head.

However, that sad I think it's pathetic two grown up men who keep having a go at each other all the time especially when they're brothers.

The best response from Liam would be something along the lines of 'This has gone too far - our relationship as bandmates broke down but we've now gone 14 years without speaking and both said some awful things about each other. I was hurt that you broke up the band, threw me under the bus and weren't there for me when I needed you. I lashed out, got too personal and involved your family. If you want me to call you I will but not about Oasis, I want to mend our relationship as brothers first but need you to be willing to accept your part in what has happened'.
As I said earlier, he is far too emotional and hot headed to say anything like that and also not eloquent enough to say it, but would hope Debbie has a quiet word and advises him.
I'm not really interested in a reunion. Noel's heart wouldn't be in it which is completely fair enough as he's older and enjoys doing his own thing. It would clearly be a cash grab which would take the shine off it, and any gig would likely be full of complete arseholes on their day out whereas Liam and Noel are already putting on great gigs as it is and far more frequently than the latter days of Oasis. But the bitterness and back and forth is just pathetic and really boring. I can't ever imagine a time when they will be close again as there is too much water under the bridge, but it would be nice if they could at least be on civil terms again and put some of the shit behind them. Perhaps not all of it - I don't think Noel will ever forgive Liam for his treatment towards Sara in 2018 - but some of the other baggage around the split and Liam's divorce can be worked through to a point where they at least don't hate each other anymore.

Great post - hopefully Debbie does step in but wouldn’t blame her if she steered well clear of it all to avoid getting caught up in the crossfire.

How would that be better, then let's say deal with it private and not public.

This boxing-style back and forth is getting boring. If there was any will to reunite, it would be done in private. Noel turning the tables and exposing Liam for being, to quote Joker, just a dog chasing cars is the least boring this has been. It's a clever way to have a new answer to a tired question and Liams constant "my bags are packed, it's all Noels fault he is the devil. Liam through the years being all pro-Oasis to be opposite Noel and forcing him to be the "bad guy" in saying Oasis won't be back, for social media likes and to be in the good graces of the fans is far more boring. Liam wanting Oasis and the money that follows back when he was down on his luck and his band BE not taking off is what it is. Since his own success, Noel exposing it for just being empty PR-posing is quite genius. And seeing Liams desperate tweets (lashing out and even slagging off Noels ex again) about why he isn't just calling and presenting a plan, proves Noel right.

That’s a pity that Liam isn’t financially struggling anymore and isn’t desperate enough to agree on the reunion on any terms, even humiliating to him. Now he wants it on his own terms, what a shame

Now he wants it on his own terms, what a shame I fail to see the point in the sarcasm? He doesn't seem to want in by any terms. Or what are these terms you speak off? An Oasis reunion based on Noels complete humiliation (Liam e.g. still disparaging Noels ex-wife in 2023)? Sounds sane.
