I'm pretty sure they said stuff in the 2000s that weren't under the influence of booze or drugs and in interviews that had been planned beforehand. It's double standards. It’s also my opinion based of my feelings for the publication. I understand you have a different one and good health to you but don’t try and shoot everyone down for feeling strongly on this Apologies if that's how it comes across. I just can't square it. I understand that it's a crappy thing to do from someone who doesn't need the publicity. I'm not sure it's worth you saying that you'd never go and see them again, though, but that's up to you at the end of the day. My point would be, he's said and done worse, and you've gone to see him. But if this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, then fair enough, everyone's entitled to their choice.

It's not just doing an interview for them, it's calling someone a "woke snowflake", like a boomer on Twitter with the Union Jack in their profile. It was virtue-signalling last week, as well - he sounds like a 13-year-old who's started watching Ben Shapiro videos. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get some John-Cleese-style "The immigrants are alright, but at what point does it stop being England?" takes from him in the future. Still have the image of his "too many people will die because of freedom of movement in Europe" quote burned into my brain. Oh, well. At this point I could count on one hand how many of my favourite artists I don't consider to be at least knobheads. I'll take all the new-age hippy platitudes Chris Martin comes out with over this. Bon Iver seems alright, too. Just got to hope that Noel's music continues to express the more joyful sides of his personality and doesn't become a conduit for the bitterness that his interviews put on display more and more often these days. I think he's symptomatic of a lot of people his age and from his background in the UK that use the same terms without really knowing what they mean. But calling a Prince a wet wipe - and bloody hell he has behaved like one as much as I don't really care for the Royal Family - isn't exactly outrageous is it. He's never said anything against immigration and is on record that he thinks Brexit was a stupid idea. If he starts saying 'ship the migrants back' then start to get worried about that. He was asked a question, he said something that can be deemed to be 'outrageous' (when it isn't, really, by any reasonable logic or in comparison to things he has said before) - and it's created publictiy. Job done. It's a scummy paper to do it with, but had he said the same thing in the Daily Mail would it have caused the same issue?

Wonder if Noel is aware of how expensive it is to tour with an orchestra. He is a famous fan of profits isn't he?

Wonder if Noel is aware of how expensive it is to tour with an orchestra. He is a famous fan of profits isn't he? Well he’s done it before. 2006 with Gem. I’d imagine he won’t be touring the world with it though. It’ll be a U.K. & Ireland thing and maybe some European dates with the orchestra.

“If they want to hear old Oasis songs, they’re being played by a fat man in an anorak somewhere, you know, with shorts on” Well...

Everything, including Noel's ability to sell larger venues and the profit margins of the music biz, was different. Yes, small "orchestra" (probably more of a chamber piece), small limited tour, is entirely doable, if still more expensive than touring with the band. A full orchestra and a real tour is a whole other ballgame. For sure he needs no money for the rest of his life, though that never stopped anyone from continuing to amass it, but anything more than a few dates would have to be a passion project. Not convinced he's that passionate, but time will tell.

It was just a few key cities and venues back with a small orchestra (which is what I assume he means here, a few stings and a couple of brass maybe). I don’t think he has any intentions of touring with a 48 piece orchestra.
