Wondering how this forum community feels about this very important topic.

Well yes, of course I'm going to get my second jab when my 12 weeks are up. I'm just over half way now as it was six weeks ago since last Thursday since I had my first one. So I haven't got too long to wait now.

Not against it, but none of us here have gotten it and we're waiting it out as long as possible.

Was vaccinated last week. It was zero problems. I still mask up, but I feel better about being in public.

I’m half-vaccinated (by US standards)–got the weird Covid Arm and a fever for a few days after Shot #1 but expected that as I have some auto-immune stuff. No big deal.
I want out and reality is for the whole world to get out of this without years of crazy up and down, it’s going to take all of us taking care of one another.
If too many “non-vulnerable” people skip the vaccine, strains of the virus that are more successful in making younger, healthier people sick may jump on this opportunity to evolve…followed by more death and lockdowns. No thanks. Humanity can do so much better than that stupid outcome.
I totally relate to wanting more info, but we likely won’t get very much more in the time frame that matters. Long-term studies will take years, but we don’t have years to get this under control globally. Based on current stats and other vaccines, the risks appear low. There’s not zero risk, but then again nothing good ever has zero risk. Do it for a loved one, or for the world, or for the wide-open future of sweating all over ecstatic strangers in packed indoor gigs.

Cannot wait to get my second shot in 2 weeks. Everyone should do their part to get us over this pandemic as quickly as possible.

Society: Don’t let others pressure you into taking drugs.
Also Society: Did you take the vaccine.... You need to take the vaccine, it’ll save your life man... What are you an ‘anti-vaxer’ freak.
I find it abhorrent those who push vaccines on others, especially as it’s so routinely attempted through shame and ridicule, and infringement on individual sovereignty and self determination.
The sooner people realize that the only ones they can control are themselves, the happier those people will be.

That's why people are passionate about it. We don't live in little bubbles anymore, we live in a giant, interconnected world where our individual actions matter more than ever. There are times (and there will be more of them to come) when people need to work together, as individuals who care about one another and want good things for each other. #loveisallyouneed

All the vaccines and medicines have side effects, so does life.

I think that all this anti vaccine crap on social media has got to stop. It's just scare mongering.

Had my second dose this morning. I had no side effects except a feeling of relief straight afterwards.
A year ago, I didn't want to be vaccinated but now I'm happy to have it. I just want life to return to normal so I can go to football and gigs and go out whenever I want. Having a couple of jabs is a small price to pay. And it seems like most people in the UK feel the same.

I've got five more weeks to go now before I can have my second dose as it's seven weeks ago today since I had my first one. So not too long to go now.

Really doubt you’re going to be ostracized by society. You likely won’t be able to travel certain places or work in certain fields (for example, movie sets) and you may endanger others as part of a group that is (however unwittingly) allowing the virus to mutate into more dangerous forms. But that’s it. Many countries already require vaccinations for various diseases, so it's not really a change. There’s lots of truly extreme and heinous oppression in this world– and lots of great reasons to go off-grid and join a commune – but this is just a deadly virus that can thankfully be prevented from causing any more mass death, like many such viruses in human history. Covid sadly got politicized as no other virus has, but it’s still just a virus that gives f**k all about humans or our societies. All it wants to do is win, like all viruses do.

All it wants to do is win, like all viruses do. i hear you. however, it seems extremely likely that the vaccine will be pushed and pushed and pushed, and these domestic vaccine passports (international travel and its already existing requirements notwithstanding) will make it impossible to participate in society - events, concerts, probably moving into stores, restaurants and other essentials - without proof of vaccination. we are already seeing the stepping stones being put into place. it is unfortunate that this virus did become politicized like no other has. but the world leaders have taken this very real situation (i'm not one of these covid deniers by any means lol) and begun to use it as an excuse to exercise control and test compliance and complacency. the politicization was by those in charge. the fear mongering was by those in charge. the rest of us are just trying to live our lives and watching this unreal dystopia unfold in front of us. i won't be participating. we are not receiving the whole truth, as we never do from mass media and from those in charge. i trust my gut more than i trust my government. and they tell us now that we must be vaccinated, but vaccination does not prevent us from spreading or contracting the virus, so we must continue to live in fear. we are being played.
