Yeah the Boy Azooga album was one of my favourites of 2018, great to see Liam recognise them - not really like him to champion new music I saw them when they supported Noel at Cardiff Castle, they were really good! He seems to have the support acts really nailed down. DMA are cracking...love The End and their version of Cher's- Do you believe in life after love - is phenomenal! Seen Kane a few times back when he first hit the scene..seemed like a genuinely nice bloke. Met him once and he actually had time for a very brief chat. Always a top draw score when you feel you don't wanna miss the support act to a decent musician.

DMA's new single.
Honestly, if you're going to any of the gigs they're supporting at, get down for them.
They'll smash it as can't imagine the audience won't be onside.
Also, this is how an anthem should be (imo). I know, it's a pop song, it's nothing knew really, but it has something that 'Once' misses , imo anyway! Gutted I haven't got tickets.

They played in Wakefield in 2017, which was mental. Obviously still doing the small circuit and tbh at that stage I wasn't that into them but my mate massively was. Tickets were a tenner so we went and they smashed it and since then just been a huge fan. Sheffield in April 2018, saw them before Liam at Finsbury, again in Leeds year (met Tommy afterwards and had a very very high chat considering we were both absolutely leathered (but Everton fans, innit, so easy talk!), April at Rock City then caught them before Noel in Dublin this year too. I've been banging the drum for ages and am chuffed they've got the chance to support Liam. They really are ace. If they were from the north west of England I guarantee you'd never hear Radio X stop playing them. Shame as it's not clear how they get bigger than they are here now but with a song like that they should really be playing your bigger venues next year - Castlefield Bowl and the like. Anyway, enjoy the gig mate!

Are the lyrics anywhere? Those that I can pick out are subtly deep, very much my thing. Vibes of Life In a Northern Town (Dream Academy) and Keeping The Dream Alive (Freiheit). Also are they supporting at MCR, Liverpool or London? (I know it’s shared slots with MK, so not sure if they’ll be at those that I'm going to)

They are supporting Cardiff, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Manc and Sheffield. lyrics are the ones that @the-ghost-dancer posted. I know I've been banging on about them for ages but if this single is anything to go by they're ready to take it to another level. Live they're so brilliantly tight too. The melody in the "How do I redefine..." bit is just brilliant. It's honestly one of the best songs I've heard this year, if not the best, and i'm absolutely chuffed as I love this band. Just gutted I can't see them with Liam (as it stands!) - though not like I didn't see them before with him at Finsbury. Just have a feeling these support slots are gonna be huge for them. They have played UK arenas before but this will be much more of an event and kudos to Liam's team/promoters for sorting it.

Thank you, yeah was rattled by a dickhead who has first world problems, I read your post - thank you for being one of those who stood up, as always. I’ll be honest and admit I kinda didn’t give this band the time they deserved, probably because I just thought they were shoehorned in to Finsbury by the Gwyther collective for their own gains, just like Trampolene and others who have been given undeserved support slots and promo under Liam’s name. I’m also a lil bit ashamed to say they’re not how I like a band to “look,” I mean this in a non-aesthetic way, I don’t actually know what I mean but there it is. However, on listening to this I’m gonna revisit this decision. From the first few words I was in balls deep. I’ve listened to this one 20+ times, nowhere near bored of it and it’s just getting better. The lyrics are divine: very meaningful, uncomplicated and without cliche. His voice has never been arguable, it’s one of those that you can’t help but let in without invitation, beautiful tone. I’m gonna learn this today and FaceTime my cover to my man, he’s away for a couple of weeks - he’ll love it. I don’t usually bother with support, but as they’re only at one of those I’m going to I’ll definitely make the effort. I’ll probably pass on the other support at Liverpool and London, too much else going on 👀 Give me 5 titles and I’ll spin them (I’ve 10 days off work, it’s half-term and I’ve done my ACL so can hardly move!)

Yeh totally get what you mean. I'd say this is definitely their most 'commercial' song. Prior to that I suppose to a very casual listener they'd know them for the cover of Cher's Believe, but there's so much more to them than that. In the interview to launch it on Aussie radio this week they said Silver was one of their earliest tunes but they knew they needed to wait to put it out because it needed to be right and needed to be big (*cough* All Around The World *cough*). I'd say, if you want a mix of what they've done, these would be the best, though it's incredibly 1. Feels Like 37 2. Lay Down 3. In The Moment 4. For Now 5. Time & Money They've got huge choruses. Their verses are catchy and they're genuinely just cool as. Tommy (the lead singer) has a scouse dad, and that's definitely where his swagger comes from. They've also got the MTV Unplugged album out which gives you a bit of a taste too but clearly that's acoustic. Their cover of Beautiful Stranger (an electric version and acoustic) is also really good.

Also igotflair if you haven't learned it already, very easy chord wise (even I figured it out straight away!) E, A, C#m (maybe that's what it's called, it's this - x-4-6-6-5-4), B for the verses Pretty much just E-B-A for the choruses

Cheers bt95 I’ll give those suggested 5 a listen. I’ve heard their cover of Beautiful Stranger a few times, is great. And haha I meant I’ll learn the vocal! Although I might translate those chords/do simple triads for piano at some point so thank you.

Delete, Too Soon, So We Know, Dawning, Play It Out, Lazy Love, Laced... I could go on(!) they're all great. Tons and tons to get into as they've got two albums worth plus an EP with b-sides

I'm not whinging about it or anything but these lads justifiably deserve to be huge. They're so good and they have the drive, attitude and ambition a lot of British indie bands seem to lack. It's probably just a bit of a time and place, thing. Obviously they've benefitted massively from the re-rise of Britpop(ish) bands over here in the UK in the last five years or so but, being from Aus, it feels like they don't really get the focus in the mainstream (or even stations like Radio X for example) that their tunes deserve. I don't care in the sense that I'm sure they do absolutely fine, but at the same time seeing them in Rock City earlier this year, they just felt too big for that size venue, but yet they're not big enough (yet) to take that next step up to arenas/outdoor gigs. So that's why the Liam support made such sense and now with Silver I honestly think it could be that song that takes them to the level. Not arenas on their own, but somewhere like Castlefield Bowl next summer for example could really work. Really very excited to see how their next album turns out. They've recorded it in London (Silver was in the Grove while they were last over here) and then did the rest in LA in the last month. They've said it's not actually finished yet or mastered, but this has been put out to get it out there (I'd probably hazard a guess the Liam tour has been a big part in that too).

Nice, hopefully you'll be a convert soon enough Delete, Step Up The Morphine, Dawning, The End (not my fave that one but a lot of people love it) probably will make an appearance in the Liam support set I'd have thought, but hopefully that playlist has a decent mix!

'For Now' is a huge song. Absolutely brilliant tune. Imagine a snarling Liam vocal on it. Probably the song that comes closest to Roses/early Oasis in terms of style. I think Silver sounds like so many different bands/artists yet it's distinctly DMA's, which is great. It's what I mean by taking them to the next level. Their songs sound like their own, even though they wear their influences on their sleeve.
