Someone on here floated the notion of Live AutoTune. I hope not. But his current voice seems too good to be true...?

Someone on here floated the notion of Live AutoTune. I hope not. But his currently voice seems too good to be true...? some pitch correction was used in the unplugged videos and the piano sessions, for sure. Nothing too major but minor changes can make a huge difference overall. Pitch wise he doesnt make a single mistake in those videos, which I see as proof of some editing. However, i dont think the other performances from this cycle have been edited. The stuff on radio and tv have all sounded pretty good to me. The version of one of us on bbc radio is actually beautiful.

Columbia and Supersonic are the best since the early 00s here, both rocking.....the most Liam and his band having sounded exactly like Oasis - I’m sure the addition of Bonehead helped. Monumental gig.

You can see, for instance, on the Ritz show, that he doesn't hit the same note in the chorus of Sad Song that he does on Unplugged, and I don't think he actually hit it on Unplugged either. It doesn't bother me particularly that they corrected it - what he actually sang sounds fine, but it does sound better with the higher note.

I floated my argument in a different thread that when he’s on point nowadays, I think I might prefer it to the glory days. It’s a broader, deeper tone and less nasally. I don’t dare he’s a better singer than in the 90s, but this era of LG vocals are arguably some of his best nonetheless.
To touch on the auto tune or pitch correction, there might be some, but the power is still evident. The resurrection of his voice should be lauded by everyone that knows anything about him. We’re in the age of hyper-criticism, sometimes by people just to get a reaction, and yet, everyone on this forum has to be stunned by the stark contrast from 2005-2014 to the past two years.
I, for one, am in awe of his return. He’s been my hero since the first time I innocently saw Oasis at Radio City, so I’m obviously biased. However, an undisputed, legitimate, living legend.

If he is using anything it's pitch correction...Nathan Chapman, Taylor Swift's record producer on her first 3 albums said that autotune wasn't worth the effort because it took many weeks to get the robotic sound out of it and he only, very sparingly, used pitch correction, but only if a bad note really bothered him.

There's audience clips from the unplugged show. You can compare for yourself now that there's an official release. I wouldn't be surprised to find the odd note has been punched up, but I don't think there's "live autotune" at work.

All of this autotune is just nonsense. Did you all forget Liam is one of the most amazing singers/frontman of ALL TIME? people here acting as if some dude suddenly started singing like John Lennon. Lol. Pathetic

There's definitely varying results. Some sound full and energetic were others sound flat and as if he can get his breath. Is it because his vocals have been tinkered or due to his form on the day? Probably a bit of both.
What I don't like is how they've overly processed his vocals on most of the album, to a point where it sounds like they've sampled his voice and crafted the songs on a computer. This is a matter of taste of course.
Most importantly though, he generally sounds miles better live than 2009. That reminds me, has anyone noticed how more professional and tight he sounds compared to the latter Oasis days?

They're not that good. He's just singing in tune ffs. The thing is we've listening him out of tune and not giving a fuck about it for decades. And now he is taking care of his voice/health, wears the little headphone so he can hear himself clear and tune the songs down. That's all. When you have a distinctive voice and you sing in tune you sound great. No mystery

It's a valid topic. Ignore it if it doesn't rock your boat.

Ok. Now autotune this one too. Liam voice is better anyway, perfect with autotune? Ok But Who cares? I think on this Ibiza rocks you could apply all autotune tech exists but he had not voice.

It’s actually someone backstage and he’s just miming that’s why he’s always gesturing to the side of the stage. They practice for hours.
