6.5/10 Great melody and build up, but it begs for a big chorus 🤔 The chorus sounds like a bridge, resulting in a massive anti climax after the second one. The instrumentation, vocals and outro are excellent. Thought the chorus was pretty obvious tbf.

Well aren't you clever 👏👏 What I mean is, the chorus sounds like it's building up to something bigger which simply isn't there. The tension of the song is punctured after the second "chorus" which ends abruptly.

Sorry for stupid question but... where the fuck I can listen ot it? Found it. After first listen is 6 for me. I like the outro... but Liams voice sounds weird (Beady Eye era again?), this song is definitely too short also. And that fucking production, hate it, really.

7.5/8 for me at the moment. I really like it but I think it's my least favourite of the 4 we've heard so far but that's saying something for this album. Shaping up to be a belter.

I didn’t like Shockwave. I thought The River was pretty good for a while, but then got kinda bored. I loved and still love Once, but I mostly don’t like Liam’s vocals on it. They are too nasal and weird and a bit annoying to be honest (he should have done another take, especially on the first verse). I also don’t like the production of Once. It’s a bit too much of everything and I find myself humming it to myself more than I listen to the actual studio version.
However, I love everything about One Of Us. Liam’s vocals are just perfect (I think he almost sounds better than ever), the production is perfect, and the outro is perfect. I’d give it a 8,5/10.

By far the best of the 4 new song, it should have more singing maybe and last longer to deserve that kind of ending, but very strong overall, 7.5/10 for now, the rest of the song were low 6, 5 and 4 for me

A light 6. It's my favorite from all the songs released so far. The chorus is quite catchy but the verse is too similar to Coldplay's Violet Hill.
On a side note, I can never understood how people can give it 9/10 or even 8/10. To this day, it still baffles me that some people actually give Once 10/10.
Shockwave: 5/10 The River: 3/10 Once: 6/10 One of Us: 6/10

I always loved the story of people asking Tom Petty if he was going to sue over The Strokes copying "American Girl" with "Last Nite". He literally laughed it off saying that in rock n roll, people have been borrowing, stealing and being inspired by countless tunes over the years. Thats music. He felt honored. A cool dude.

A good 8 from me Nice to know WMWN's first 3 tracks now: Shockwave - One Of Us - Once is a pretty good streak so far. Really looking forward to the rest before and after The River!

I've enjoyed the last three Liam songs but not mad on this one. Firstly I don't think it's a very good composition but to be honest it's the very obvious autotuning on the vocal that really puts me off.

Easy 8 for me. Not at all what I expected, yet something that now feels like it was needed all along.

3/10. Worst Gallagher tune I've heard in a while. Even worse than the latest NGHFB efforts. And that says a lot.

Giving it an 8. A nice surprise and Liam finally out of the shitty pseudo rock n roll ala Shockwave. At least, now it's clear, he's making pop music.
The ending is pure bliss, the rest of the tunes i enjoyable

Britpop was just a shitty term invented by a journalist to define an era, it's not what most of those band were. In the 90s, pop music was the spice girls, Robbie Williams and the Backstreet boyz. You're just confusing pop music and music that is popular. Pop music is genre, just like rnr, rnb, metal... pop music is defined by its light production and melody. Oasis was rock n roll. Or pop rock if you want. Noel Gallagher does Cosmic Pop music, please, he's too sophisticated for regular pop music.

But it was pop: focus on the melody and nothing political/riot lyrics. Pop rock is still pop. I lived those years. Definetely NOT Rock.

Was Stand by me Rock? Was Live Forever Rock? Was Cast no Shadows Rock? Was Wonderwall Rock? Was Don't Look Back in Anger Rock? Was Whatever Rock? Was Don't go Away Rock? Was The Masterplan Rock? Was Supersonic Rock?
NO.
They were brit-POP: which was POP with guitars and " real played" instrument,.
Liam still does the same genre... Noel as well (WBTM? is a pop-rock album).
One of Us is a pop/rock song - with a bit of Coldplay (again: pop-rock) vibe in it- in the huge Oasis tradition. It's not dance, it's not rap, it's not hard rock, it's not indie rock - it's not whatever else than pop-rock.
