He then said that the masters for Oasis’ full back-catalogue are “due to come back around to [him] in about four or five years”. Artists who own the masters - like Oasis (Big Brother) - also need someone who distributes the albums. So it's likely that he refers to the end of the distribution deal with Sony.

Agreed. I am not sure how true any of this is. However, David does have comparisons on his site of Slide Away, Live Forever and Whatever that shows differences. I have the North American copies of each, but CD's, not vinyl. I would think this would be more noticeable on the vinyl releases. Also this: I wasn't aware of that. I guess my Oasis nerdom leaves a lot to be desired. Yeah. I have the US Wonderwall single (bought it at the time of release) and to be honest, I never noticed that he doesn't say it at the end of the UK SMS single (which I also bought at the time). I guess I never actually listened to the UK version, since I had the US one. I guess that this all points to the fact that someone, somewhere was making different mixes from the masters. The fact that the WTSMG ones were "shipped to the US" implies that Creation did not own them, as I doubt they would have sent them to an Iron Mountain facility in the US for backup. That circumstantially points to Sony requesting them be sent to their "vault" and implies their ownership.
