5/10
VERY underwhelming compared to the demo. Like many of Liam tunes there's just something missing. The slide guitar is horrible and the instrumental part is amateur at best. The structure of the song is lazy and uninspired and it doesn't go anywhere after the second chorus. It just feels.... incomplete.

I went with 8.
I think it's easily one of Liam's best solo songs.
I think the lyrics in the verses are a bit... I dunno. Just feels a bit too much like a parody and they could have been better. But the chorus is soaring and one of the best either brother have put out since the split.
I really like the instrumentation throughout.
The middle eight... for lack of a better term. I'm not so sure on it. Don't mind it but feels like it needs something else in there. That voice is also dead weird.
It does feel a bit too short but in terms of a radio single it's probably the perfect length.
So yeh 8 for now, but that could change.

Very nice emotional melody and delivery from Liam. Overly compressed, boomy mastering fucks the song up once again, my friend. Pity.

Music today is treated like advertisement, everything is bricked, blocky with no dynamics designed to stun the listener. Engineers don’t use their ears anymore, they use their training and treat every song the same and completely rob the song of room to breath.

7/10. Solid tune. I actually like that they kept it relatively simple, and I don't even mind this psychedelia-by-numbers Middle 8. I'm definitely not blown away, but I won't be skipping this on the album.

Everything I’ve heard sounds better live, even with the wobbles it brings. This one will be from the same mould, however it’ll still be brilliant.

As You Were is Sgt Pepper compared to the 3 tracks we got so far, in terms of production and mixing work. Fan or not of the "Once" from As you Were (For What it's Worth), the work done on that track was close to perfection. Paper Crown was also a delight to the ear.

Still, 'Wall of Glass' is an abomination. The mix sounds like it was done by a deaf monkey with no fingers. However, I'm far from blaming the producers, cause I bet it was done at the mastering stage, so Kurstin and Wyatt had probably zero influence on that. Same in this case.

It could be 10/10 if there wasn't that reeeeally strange instrumental in the middle. Hadn't Liam have enough money to pay for another strings solo? Why is psychedelic solo in there? I thought it's easy to understand that there MUST BE strings
I had so many beliefs that it'll be epic song. Lyrically it is (don't care about 'pool/school' thing). But instrumentally I'm disappointed. Now I hope live versions will be mostly with strings (MTV Unplugged performance must be too). 9/10

True masterpiece. The vocals, the lyrics and the melody are incredible and so moving. I really like the instrumental (it's not "more of the same") in the middle: it's the break before the return of the fantastic vocals.

I went with 7/10. I especially like the verses, simple but beautiful and touching like in Liam's best songs. I do not mind the production but I do not think it adds to the song either.
