I can't wait to use this song with Plane9 in VR. It's got the right ups and downs for it to take me on a responsive soundscape journey.

It’s a solid 9. They kinda fucked up the instrumental and even over produced it I think but it’s still a fucking amazing song. I really wasn’t expecting it to be like this - I’m happy though but I wish it was a bit more ‘clean’ sounding like that 1:21 clip

6/10, cos i'm having a nice day. the lyrics are fucking laughable. "just clean the poo(l)". honestly, lyric wise, it's a 2/10. the rest is basically what i expected. another liam plodder, where he tries to pull a john lennon.

Hmm... I never got the hype with the clip we got and I'm still not onboard now. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea but these 9's and 10's (!) are head scratchers to me. 6.5/10

A copy-paste from other thread but I think it suits this one better.
I always get a tad sad when a great melody/song loses part of its strength because of production/mixing choices – and mistakes, may I add – , and that seems to be happening a lot with Liam's stuff on his solo career.
Once is a great song. I was all hype when the first snippets popped out and I keep my word. It's stunning. But to see its guitars overcompressed like that, the completely out-of-place echo-y voices during the instrumental bit (even though the drum build up is great), and the CRAZY amount of editing errors (from the guitar at the very first beats to Liam's voice coming up a bit late at 0:38, the drums sounding inconstant and again with tempo errors etc)...it's sad really, especially if we're aware he's working with people at Abbey Road or another greatly equipped studio around the world, with supposedly well prepared professionals. Kept it up from being a 9 or a 10.
Also. The structure is okay, but I feel it could've had a bit more to it. Give it another 30s. Repeat the ending. I don't know. Maybe it's the instrumental bit void talking.
7/10 from me.

Not having the instrumental bit, but the rest is really nice.

7/10
Am I missing something? It’s incomplete, the second half of the song from the instrumental to the end is so lackluster. Nowhere near his best song (I’ve All I Need).
I’m left feeling very disappointed.

A complete and utter waste of potentially his best song since Songbird.
7/10 on what should have been at the very least a 9.

Great tune but not better than Off at the Next Exit for example.

It’s great up to the instrumental part.
The instrumental falls flat, it’s so underwhelming. And again, stop with the fucking voice echos (the ‘shout’ part in The River, and same thing here with ‘Once’ in that god awful instrumental).

I enjoy the instrumental part. I think that whatever Liam will make nowadays, some people will be always whining.
9/10 for now

I love it - including the instrumental part. Wish it was a bit longer though.

Its about as Beatles as you can get, which is a good thing.
