Thank you for this, it’s good to hear your thoughts and they’re so much more meaningful when articulated this way rather than a negative one liner. Appreciated and a good post. 😊 Well, when Liam's bad i say it, when he's good i do the same. I'm not blind to all things Gallaghers thankfully. Those one liners (dont think i do that many tbh) are the Gallagher's fault . I grew up with their Tongue-in-cheek interviews. I post a lot while working too. I'll try and behave now teach' ! cheers

Appreciated and a good post. 😊 good point, that was really something different at the time, special atmosphere, Layne with Jerry sitting still, even with their shirts on... but then again there was this guy Eddie who could not manage it and could not be still for 10 seconds, transforming the stool into a carousel, then a pedestal or whatever he was trying to do. Oh i loved all of those gigs, Nirvana, AiC, Pearl Jam, and the Cranberries one was so beautiful <3 Yeah even the bands i didnt like had that special atmosphere, i even enjoyed and watched a lot the unplugged from alice in chains and the coors (the fuckin Coors ), that's how good unplugged used to be. Liam's one is not bad at all, but with stools and a bit of smoke, it could have added to the magic.

Better is an interesting term - they are more familiar if you know them as Oasis songs from the 1st time around. They have that emotional connection. To the casual listener like my 19 year old son, 12 year old daughter and her mate who was round last night they were Meh towards Sad Song Stand By Me and Cast No Shadow. They preferred Liam's solo stuff. Not because it's better but it's because what they are familiar with. nah, if a song is shit, it's shit, even though i'm familiar with it. hung in a bad place will be shit, no matter what. the oasis songs liam performed are just in a different league quality wise. your son will get there eventually. Gotta agree with this. Quality is intemporal. We grew to love the Beatles even though they broke up at leas 10 years before any of us were born, their songs will always be better than anything else. It's outside the emotionnal attachement to those songs. Quality shines through, some of Liam's material is good, but Noel's tunes from the 90s are timeless, out of this world. They just are refined melodies that cant be matched by an hired gun who learnt from the best, but who will never be like he true geniuses. They are good copycats, cant deny that.

That Cast no shadow performance is evidence for that this is the time for a Oasis reunion and paradoxically also the evidence for that we don't need one.

Although those twice of 10 minutes commercial break last night, I can't complain as MTV did broadcast songs I didn't expect - Sad Song and Cast No Shadow (with Bonehead!). These two songs nearly brought tears in my eyes. Who would have though that we would hear these songs sung by Liam on the same show he would have been 23 years ago. Life is beautiful. Cherish the moment and enjoy the music. Well done, Liam. I'm proud of you. Did you also get mainly pet product and online betting ads? I did wonder what kind of target group I am supposed to be, crazy cat/dog lady, addicted to online gaming? I don't even have a pet and used to play minesweeper when I was supposed to study! I watched on TV broadcast yesterday evening, so a lot of MTV show adverts which I will never watch

Noel's probably shitting himself. Liam's on top form Why would Noel be shitting himself? You know back in the day, when Oasis was at their zenith, got booked to play the highly prestigious and influential MTV Unplugged, Liam fucking bailed last minute. Easy to dismiss that now but at the time it was a huge huge deal making headlines all over the musical world. It was a moment they would never get back. Of course we all wanted Liam to do unplugged back at his peak and Oasis’ peak. I’m happy and excited Liam crushed it in 2019 but he also should have CRUSHED it in 1996. Instead we fans got shit on. I'm talking about 2019. I actually like Noel's performance in '96. It showed the bands depth. Not that Americans could appreciate such a thing. Noel's shitting himself because he broke up Oasis and Liam is the one bringing people together and carrrying on. While Noel is putting out disco EP's..

You do realize that the last 10 years of Oasis were kinda a drag of unrealized potential. Noel’s doing just fine himself. You also neglect to mention Liam’s first 5-7 years of being solo. Not so pretty. Don’t think Noel is regretting anything other than maybe leaving Oasis sooner. The writing was all over the wall.

I hope nobody will ask him about Liams Mtv Unplugged, cause nobody needs to hear his shit again.

Both are seemingly grumpy guys overall. They both have their charming moments but can also be straight c_unts. That’s how I view them. Both the same.

“Stools and a bit of smoke.”
After watching that wonderful gig?
Stools and smoke.
STOOLS AND SMOKE.
Stools. And. Smoke.
Stoolsandsmoke.

I mean, that's it, isn't it? That's not great for 2010s Liam's standards, we can easily compare this with his best 90s performances of this song.

Just compared the Sad Song audience recording to broadcast. If you play them side by side they go out of sync! I guess they quantised it so that it doesn't go out of time!?
Not that much done to Liam's vocals, but the "living" in the chorus, especially the second chorus, has been tuned up so he hits the note.

In bits watching that. This is the guy whose band flopped horribly but in a really slow, drawn out and sad to watch way, whose one massive talent seemed to have deserted him, who was on a downward spiral into angry self parody and fuck knows where.
Cheers, Bonehead and Paul. We got Our Kid back.
