I am seriously not hearing how some are saying this sounds like DOYS. The first 8 tracks on that are excellent and the production here sounds nothing like it to me.

I mean this unironically. The River is basically, Ian Brown’s Keep What You Got, ESPECIALLY the ending. Like holy fuck. Proper thievery, Liam.

Could have been worse. The line could have been "money-suckin' NGs." But I guess he's saving that for his Twitter. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA Brilliant.

What is the big problem with the lyrics? I like the celebrities and money sucking MPs part btw. I can see that people have a problem with it, though. But I don't see why it is such a big deal. It's not the end of the world and Gallagher lyrics never claimed to be taken too seriously either. People on here just want a song like Come on Its my time to shine In the sunshine and the rain Say that you'll be mine I dont wanna feel no pain Yes please! When you call my name, it takes away my pain.

I have a problem with the "money-suckin' MPs" line. It's fine to be political, but do I believe that Liam has any idea what an MP's job is or how much they're paid? No. And I'm sure an MP's salary pales in comparison to whatever Liam and almost every other very high earner manages to legally avoid paying the Treasury with expensive accountants, who also earn a lot more than an MP. It plays into the kind of rubbish that gets peddled about politicians being "all the same". All that does is disengage people or drive them into the hands of the Brexit non-party. Many MPs work VERY hard and offer something VERY different to some of their peers. OK, one could make that argument. But then I think you have to let the same reasoning apply to all Oasis lyrics? Some lyrics can play into the idea that drugs are cool, or that nameless people in suits want to put down the ordinary guy for the thoughts that you think, or that the elite will make you fight in wars with weapons that can destroy us all with the flick of the finger. Etc.

The River was written by Liam and Wyatt. and you found this info where? Liam played it with wyatt at glastonbury so that alone is a given that wyatt had a hand in it.

well youve already been given a source in that is apparently on spotify. The fact wyatt was playing it with him last night just adds more confirmation that wyatt was involved which to me is pretty sound logic. if you want to ignore that then go ahead, I don't really much care for who wrote it.

You’ll never get accurate credits for every lyric someone has input. Liam will be credited if he changed just a word. This is a Wyatt song with Liam’s input (to what extent we will never know). As @salasana said, see song credits on Spotify if you want a “source.”

I wonder if Wyatt is up for taking over as lead guitarist for the tour?
