And here I was hoping for some animation of the big bang and the universe expanding rapidly like a shockwave with Liam floating through space in his sunglasses snapping planets into existence or something.

I think it's a pretty cool video. You shouldnt really read any meaning into music videos, but if you did I reckon the bit with the protests represents bellends having political arguments on Twitter while Liam ignores all that shit and just goes on about potatoes and stuff. Throw in a few explosions and fire for the shockwave bit and Bob's your uncle.

The video should be just Liam sitting at the bar having a pint with people around digging that tune. Have a note, Warner...

All this video needed was Liam just walking around. All the other clips spliced in are bizarre at best and tasteless/exploitive at worst. Keep the Liam bits and bury the rest in Noel’s sock drawer with all the other Gallagher faux pas

Just have Liam start in the apartment walking down the street as all the people are running by him etc and then have the song climax with Liam walking through the riot and the building burning behind him. Trim the rest out.

Wow, Nicki just announced a new single, obviously she's basing her release dates around her L4E relevancy. I actually thought her last album was over-hated a bit, Chun-Li was a bop single, so I'm interested to see how she comes back from that.
And, yeah, this video isn't doing for me. Liam in just a burning house would have been cool. Keep it simple. It's not fookin' Star Wars, after all.

It’s attempting to recreate the look of the civil rights and war protests of the 60s which has absolutely nothing to do with Liam or the song. I think it’s a tacky move by Warner

I think it’s a tacky move by Warner What protest should they have imitated? I think he American lean from came from the set they had to work with but I don't think most people watching will make that connection. Noel has a bloke called Bernard Manning in his Black Star Dancing video, a british comic accused of both racism and sexism, should I draw something about Noel and his management being tasteless or exploititive from that? Or just think that the video had the perfect retro look he was going for? I'll go with the latter.

It's purposely taking a movement(s) that represented actual ideals and struggles and commercializing it with a song that's only looking to pump itself up with those images. This really shouldn't be a debate.

I would think the civil rights protests of the 1960s are more widely known than whoever Bernard Manning is..Of course you can draw whatever conclusion you want from the video but young people today are very sensitive to cultural appropriation so artists do well to be more involved and careful about their image and how the record company portrays them. I'm assuming Liam had little to nothing to do with the overall theme of the video and I just don't think it is wise to run your career like that anymore. Especially then you don't have a brother watching your back or the back of the band anymore. You have to be aware of what methods and images are being used to sell you and your music as a product

Is his racism irrelavant because he isn't 'widely known' in America? Or because its Noel's video? Personally I don't think many people are going draw the same conclusion you have.

I was just looking at the views for shockwave and it has 124k views......then I see the video beneath it is the interview with chris evans and that has 120k views.
is chris evans making a comeback? that seems bloody ludicrous for a radio interview that only went up a couple of days ago.

Personally, I almost closed the video immediately. That's your choice and your right. I just don't think many others will draw that conclusion. I don't know what sort of protest is acceptable. Idk. Maybe not the protest where an indifferent rich white dude walks through burned out streets as people struggle to be treated like human beings before cops beat them. Probably not that one. But why does it have to be a protest at all? Whatever. No matter what, the video is corporate af, and I'd never thought I'd put Liam and corporate in the same sentence.

I'm not making this a Noel vs Liam thing, you are btw. I can't comment on that aspect of Noel's video because being American I lack the cultural information and context to make a decision on whether or not including Manning is an approval of his racism. Maybe someone who is more informed than me can give their opinion
