To keep the trend that has developed over the last 12 years, here's the official Arsenal thread for the 2018/19 season.
I’m starting this thread earlier than normal due to today’s appointment of Unai Emery. The Emery revolution is here.
One Unai Emery, there’s only one Unai Emery.... #welcome #bienvenido

Chelsea looked fairly poor against Huddersfield so I reckon we can get a result from them next weekend.
But City at home tomorrow? Ehhh....This could be ugly, our defense is shocking.

I can see City demolishing Arsenal today. On another day, that would have been 5-0. City are another class. That said, Emery fucked up the starting 11. And why Xhaka still starts is beyond me - he must have something on Kroenke.

Unless of course he's as bad as Moyes was for United.

Now what happens should West Ham fluke a win next weekend? Emery is worse than Moyes. Tired of this shit.

Two tough games out the way.
There is too many problems in the Arsenal squad for Emery to sort out, he needs time.

Two tough games out the way. There is too many problems in the Arsenal squad for Emery to sort out, he needs time. It seemed like Emery was conflicted with what he wanted to do in the second half - and that indecisiveness is what cost us. It was abundantly clear that Emery told the players at Half Time to be disciplined and play for the draw. It was a complete reversal of how we played in the first half. And it's a very dangerous game to play as we showed Chelsea way too much respect by giving them so much space. But then, with 15 minutes left at 2-2, he replaces Iwobi with Lacazette, which indicated he wanted the third goal despite having played most of the second half for a draw. If he wanted to play for the 2-2 draw, he should have stuck with that plan and perhaps put Elneny on to help shore up things in the final minutes. The ambivalent nature of his second half tactics is what cost us in the end.

4 games in, and at the International Break, I think Emery has done the bare minimum of what was expected. Everyone conceded the first two matches (City, Chelsea) and then we got two expected wins after that (West Ham, Cardiff). Things I like:
The pressing Making substitutions when needed Subbing off star players like Ozil when needed Guendouzi looks like an incredible talent Torreira has been sharp whenever he's come on Aubameyang and Lacazette look like great mates both off and on the pitch Things I don't like:
Playing out from the back - as we don't have the personnel The high line we play - we're going to be caught out Overall first impressions:
Going as expected. Will take time. matt

After losing their first two matches of the season, Arsenal have now won their following seven in all competitions. #EmeryRevolution
In all seriousness, yet another poor performance but at least we're getting results.

Arsenal 5-1 Fulham, easily the best we’ve played all season.
Lacazette and Aubemeyang, DEADLY DUO.
Nine wins in a row in all competitions, after losing the first two.
And 18 points from a possible 24 is actually an incredible return to begin the season.

At the moment, we're on a good run. But let's take it game by game. I'm liking the fight and desire the team has, and Emery has gotten the best out of players who the fan's were critical of like Iwobi, Xhaka and Bellerin. Still think we're weak at Center back, and that we need a world class winger. But Leno, Torreira, Guendouzi and Sokratis have been very good signings so far.
The early form from Lacazette has been fantastic and him and Aubemeyang look a lethal duo.
The real test for us is when we play some of the top 6 sides. We badly need to win some of those games to shit up the doubters.

The next test is 3rd Nov - Liverpool at home. If we are still in this form by then it will be really interesting!

Aubameyang is simply incredible. Masterclass by Ozil. Sublime stuff.
Football at its finest.

God bless.
