Just curious; is that post from Oasis mania or why I can't see it? Because I think they've blocked me and I only see "failed loading Instagram post." it says that because the IG post doesn't exist anymore I think it was a Radio X promo, though

The little menace. Noel didn't like that. The interviewer is a twat is he? I think they're actually 'mates'. Pretty sure Gordon Smart was at Noel's 50th. Then again, if your second name wasn't Gallagher and you'd been on the TV or Radio for at least 15 minutes since 1997, you were probably getting an invite.

Eh?! They've been good friends for years! Personally, I find GS quite likeable... for a former Sun reporter anyway ;-) Is this the fella LG didn't like hanging around during the last Oasis tour? lalalandI'm not sure it is. Don't think it was Gordon Smart that Liam didn't like - in fact there's an article (unfortunately in the Sun) where Smart says Liam used to be the only one that'd speak to him or something along those lines. In terms of his radio personality, he reminds me of Jim White from Talksport/Sky Sports News. It's not just the similar Scottish accent, it's also how he presents everything as if it's the biggest piece of breaking, exclusive news. I know it's just upselling the show, but it's fucking annoying.

bt95My memory from the last Oasis tour is a bit hazy and maybe Liam never called GS out by name but my overall impression was / is that Liam didn't have a good relationship with the Sun while GS was the showbiz editor. I also always thought that it was him who Liam was referring to in the argument he had with Noel in this tour doc, is it the Lord Don't Slow Me Down one? The one in the restaurant filmed in black and white anyway. Plus, I'm sure GS was on radio in the days after they pulled V slagging Liam off, saying he got pissed backstage or something along those lines. Think Noel alluded to this in his press conference in 2011 as well, saying Liam had issues with some journalists "some of which are in this very room today". Like say, I might be wrong but based on this ^ and that seemingly, Noel and his family are good friends with GS and family, I always had the impression that Liam had somewhat of a personal problem with GS since or maybe even before the last Oasis tour.

You're definitely right that Liam took issue to a journalist (from the Sun as well) being backstage etc. I just can't remember if it was Gordon Smart or not! For some reason, I have the name 'Charlie' in my head, but I could be wrong!

Not sure about the LDSMD restaurant thing though... Weren't they talking about the NME and some interview where Noel named what he felt were DBTT 'flaws'?

Anyway, here's the LDSMD clip, GS doesn't get mentioned directly, unless it was him interviewing Noel then for the NME 😉

^ Yeah, I got that mixed up with something else then. I'm sure there was an interview with Liam at some point where he was saying how Noel was hanging out with his bessie from the Scum / tabloids, inviting him backstage etc... Obviously, there could be other reporters that Noel hangs out with but since GS even came to his wedding, his 50th, I'd say it's safe to assume that it's him that Liam dislikes, shall we say ;-)
