So we started watching a Netflix show called Everything Sucks. The premise is high school in the mid nineties in an Oregon town called Boring. First episode one of the characters give his duplicate copy of WTSMG to the girl he has a crush on (the last Oasis) and cue DLBIA. Episode two the girl mentions to the boy how much she likes Wonderwall and wonders who “he’s singing about”. Again they play the song kinda like a radio edit. Then the boy in the hopes of asking the girl out watches the Wonderwall video on MTV and reshoots it helped by his friends and plays it on the school tv to ask the girl out. I thought this was interesting how much emphasis was put on Oasis. It’s a show about the 90s in a high school so there are a lot of musical and pop culture references but no other song was playing or a band referred so much (so far). More as a background to some scenes and just small bits. Oasis was actually part of the plot. Creators must be fans as the music supervisor said it was always in the script and a must have. Saw that scene in the trailer. Thought it was a Wonderwall nod. Glad it was.

Started watching this last night. It's a terrible show, but I feel like I need to give it a shot after all of the Oasis love.

I saw the trailer and it looked like a poor version of Stranger Things. That Wonderwall video was cool though.

Started watching this last night. It's a terrible show, but I feel like I need to give it a shot after all of the Oasis love. We may have stopped watching if the whole oasis thing hadn’t come up It's a bit slow for the first few eps but by the end it has very little to do with the 90s themselves. It's actually a really well-told story that uses the 90s as a setting - more of a plot device than anything else - and I actually thought it worked well. Like you, I hung through the first few eps just to kind of see the Oasis references but since they're only short episodes, I actually got pretty into it by the 4th/5th one. It's a bittersweet show but I think it's well made.

I saw the trailer and it looked like a poor version of Stranger Things. That Wonderwall video was cool though. It's been marketed as such but it's actually in no way akin to that. It's more a coming of age story than anything else, and setting it in that era and location plays a pretty key part by the end of it. Definitely worth a shot

As a collector, I will say that that looks like a legit sealed US copy of the original cd from 1995. Nice attention to detail.

Sounds so cool! Definitely going to give this a watch.
Reminds me of the TV show Clueless - I was a teenager when it came out and lost my shit because getting Oasis tickets was a plot line and Cher & Dionne were mooning all over Liam & Noel on MTV hehe - here's the episode for anyone who wants to see:

Watched the whole thing yesterday. I thought it was mediocre to average, but it had it's moments...

Actually, I find that mediocre has a much more negative connotation to it, and therefore allows the use of both to properly describe where it falls on the scale. Thanks...

I came here just to post about this! They played DLBIA and Wonderwall pretty much from start to finish (radio edits, anyway), and Wonderwall is a big part of the plot line in the 2nd episode.
The first 3 episodes are slow and I definitely only stuck it out due to the WTSMG references, but the show got much better later on. I won't give spoilers, but the last few episodes are the best in the series. It's not a masterpiece like Stranger Things or anything, but it's definitely better than most stuff on TV.

I tried. Couldn't get through the first 10 minutes. I'm watching 'Dark' instead.

Just started watching it, lots of Oasis in the first two episodes! Which is not surprising, as those of us who lived through the mid 90s will recall.
Wonderwall (and its video) and DLBIA feature prominently. I never expected to hear DLBIA played while a girl skims over an adult publication and begins to touch herself. Before being walked in on by her father.
I'm sure Champagne Supernova will come up in the next couple episodes.

Seen various opinions though. Is it worth a watch? Gonna take that as a no. Cheers Hey, didn't mean to ignore you there! It's not really brilliant but its not bad either. It's decent. But if it weren't for the Oasis references and 90s reminiscing I wouldn't bother, as I've got enough to watch. Mind you though,I'm only 3 episodes in.
