Apart from Jay, the band is fine so I'm not surprised.

I like the band. People on this forum need something to moan about and it just so happens that Liam's return has been more or less bulletproof. The band, as a result, have been the targets

They were great the two times I’ve seen them.

The band massively improved as they went. I don't know if they didn't get enough rehearsal time before the first tour or something. I'm glad they're all back (Jay excepted, obviously).

I guess since I became a fan of LG's first and haven't really delved into live Oasis, I don't understand the hate Jay gets. They all seem like good musicians that do a decent job.
They were all fantastic in San Fran!

They were SIGNIFICANTLY better the second time around. Actually, they were monstrous.

I have to say that despite feeling that Liam could've probably done better for himself with regards to band members, these first few gigs of the WMWN cycle have definitely been promising. Dan's drumming seems to have improved massively and Jay is FINALLY on his way to becoming decent. He's the band member I really didn't like first time around but I've noticed that he played the Rock 'n' Roll Star riff correctly in the last 2 gigs, although he didn't play it correctly in full in Italy unlike in Prague the other night. I know it's bizarre it took him 2 years to do something so basic but at least it's a start (he plays the riff at around 2:00 in the video)

Can't believe people on here are trying to compensate for how bad the band are by saying we just want something to moan about. Seriously listen to the way they have messed up songs like RNRS and Cigarettes and Alcohol.
Fans are paying good money and shouldn't have songs like that played incorrectly. They shouldn't have any songs played badly. Isnt an excuse for it in the slightest.

- Drummer can't get the intro right - Liam fucks up the first verse (it was funny though) - Horrible backing vocals - They can't get the outro right either - Liam's vocals were spot on

But we are talking £35+ for tickets and for that you'd kind of expect Liam to have picked accomplished musicians.

Heard a few songs from the Glastonbury gig. I don't like to crictisize fellow musicians, everyone can have a bad performance, it happens. But I can't believe how half harsed this band actually is. And people say "They will get better", but they are f***** trained musicians. You don't just pick a guitar one day an the other you become a session musician. They have the skills. They SHOULD do the job, but still make mistakes on 4 chords songs, AFTER TWO YEARS. WHO SHOWS UP AT GLASTONBURY AND FORGET THE NOTES FOR A SONG LIKE ROLL WITH IT. It's beyond me. As a full time musician myself, I would get fired for far less than that. Don't tell me it's a matter of money, in the music business, if you fuck up, there are 100+ people waiting to take your place for less or even for free. Sorry for ranting so much. It pisses me off to see liam back on form, playing with people that probably don't give a damn. Maybe Liam likes them, i don't know. But man come on...

It pisses me off to see liam back on form, playing with people that probably don't give a damn. Maybe Liam likes them, i don't know. But man come on... I wouldn't go as far as saying they don't care. I imagine they do. And Mike (the rhythm guitarist) has come out on Twitter and suggested the mix on the broadcast was poor. That may well be the case, and every time I've seen Liam I've not really noticed the band because at the end of the day you're there to see Liam. The band play the songs strictly to the record - which is fine to an extent if you take the above into account. You're there to see LG and not a musical extravaganza. But when they are making mistakes - or even if it's just playing the songs in a different way that simply doesn't work - then it becomes grating after a while. Thing is, Liam can only take it so far. There comes a point when his vocals aren't enough to carry the gig without it sounding like glorified karaoke - something that my mate who I went to see Liam with twice (Amsterdam and Finsbury) in 2018 said. So while I don't expect to see the quality Noel's band serves up, it would be nice to see a bit more conviction and to get rid of these silly mistakes. You only have to watch the next set on after Liam at Glasto with the Killers and see what an amazing band they are (and two of those are session musicians themselves as half of the Killers haven't been touring in the last two years, i'm pretty sure). Heck, even the Courteeners were miles better musically, and the Charlatans the day before. They're just incredibly tight and while I appreciate that comes with time, Liam's band just seem so muddled at times. It's a real shame but if you start - and keep - cocking up the basics, then it's gonna become annoying. People can have a go at Noel for being a tit, and he's probably very much a twat when it comes to being ruthless. But that's what is needed. He knew Tony wasn't going to cut it for WSMG, and cut him. Yeh, a dick move, but at the end of the day, probably the right one. When it came to Gem being available to take his part in HFB, he got rid of Tim Smith. Yeh, again, a dick move, but the difference in Gem and Tim is huge. It's not that Tim's a bad guitarist at all, but Gem is just far more in sync with Noel and knows what's needed.
