I voted 7/10 based on the 30 seconds sample I could listen on apple music.

Verses aren't too bad, chrous is brutal and musically clichéd.

I dont like it.
However Im really amazed of what Liam can still do in a Studio. The vocals in this song are incredible.
I just cant understand how many here think theres no point in oasis coming back together. Liam is showing an outstanding comeback regarding his voice and Noel is still one of the best song writters in the business.
Incredible music could be done.

Sure - Noel and Liam could sort out their differences, produce some great work in the studio together and bang out a beautiful Oasis album. It's just a shame they'd need to tour together again to make it sell. That's not going to happen.

Sounds to me like Andy Bell writing an Oasis song, and I struggle to believe he can sing it like that live. I can imagine Westlife coming off their stools for the last chorus. Not saying it's the worst thing I've ever heard and I guess it's what you'd expect now he's signed for a major label and got a pop songwriter. 6/10.

What is frustrating about this song is that it's so close to being something more.
A better mix would do wonders.
Also, I find the lyrics to be incredibly hollow. I'm just never going to be a fan of "Don't Brother Me" type lyrics that are clearly playing off their relationship for sales.

HOT TAKES...........................
- I think Wall of Glass is the best thing Liam has released as a solo artist. Very strong single the more I hear it. Good stuff.
- I like the instruments in Chinatown the best, not so much the lyrics but I love the sounds involved with the song. Good swirling keyboards despite them being very very low.
- Not sure how I feel on For What Its Worth. Feels like a big song. Kinda similar vibes to Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Another song that sounded like it should be some big bad Oasis anthem but didn't really become that despite strong sales and opinions at the time. Very good vocals for sure. I wish the background music and strings were louder. Liam's voice dominates the mix, as it should I guess since his voice is the biggest instrument he has. No sex jokes please.
- I think Wall of Glass was the right first single choice based on these three tracks. Looking forward to hearing the rest. Still won't listen to live versions. I want studio first.

7, good we tune....
But Don't Brother Me Redux, innit. As You Were, indeed.

Oh and mate, the 'Eye of the Storm' is the calmest part where you can actually see the sunset, but never mind - that's attention to detail, innit.

At first it felt like a rather mediocre 5/10 song, but it kind of grew on me to be a solid 7/10. Some good lyrics in this one that make people talk, and Liam's vocal is right on point. When was the last time we could hear our kid use his vocal range so much?
What makes it a bit underwhelming for me is the mellowed out, Robbie Williams-ish production. It truly would have been the kind of track Chris Moyles was talking about if it wasn't for the bland instrumentation. Greg Kurstin got the proportions right when producing "Wall of Glass" and mixed the britpop grittiness with modern influences, Simon Aldred just pumped out another run of the mill ballad that only LG could save from obscurity.

When you guys rate, you do it based on Oasis, Liam's or worldwide material?
Cos' I really can't understand how to rate that song as an 8 or 9. What does that make of Champagne Supernova or Slide Away? A 15?? Or even considering masterpieces from other bands all around the world.
But if you're considering only Liam's tunes than I guess it makes some sense....

Immense vocals. Think I still like Wall of Glass more but this is definitely an excellent tune IMO. Love the melody and has lyrics with some meaning.
