If all these songs are ready to be performed live, and allegedly the album is finished, why does it not come out until October? Seems like a lot of hype and live performances going on right now. A lot of that hype will die down having to wait almost four more months now.

There will be a strategy behind the release date.
Another huge part in this is us supporting Liam as much as we possibly can. Get to as many gigs as you can, tweet, post positively about him on social media.
The last thing we want is him packing it in.

It's a good question. Liam's 'comeback' has been about as well received as he could have hoped for, surely? Keeping that momentum going until the album release might be a tall order. However, Liam seems to be pacing himself and playing a much more strategic game this time round, so perhaps he has it all figured out.
I remember Noel talking in a few interviews about his management telling him that March and October are the two points in the year he's best to release an album. No idea why, but perhaps Liam has had the same advice.
I think the crucial point is that Liam and Noel's albums will overlap (assuming Noal isn't bullshitting about a November release of his album). They have until now avoided overlapping album cycles, but have obviously realised the publicity potential of a "Gallagher Vs Gallagher" narrative across the media. Great for sales!

I live in Houston and will probably fly out to Chicago or Minneapolis to see one of the NA shows, but the general public is the concern! I guess it's possible they are really only worried about the UK and won't hype the album in the USA much if at all until right before the release date. Not heard Wall of Glass on any radio stations around here.

I reckon November US tour along with tv talk show appearances is the reason behind this release schedule. Summer is a dead period for promotion apart from festivals of course.

To build momentum and hype so people pre order it.
I think it's quite a long wait as well but you can see why they have done it.

I can't see him packing this one in as quick, sure he knows he's onto a good thing and making all the right moves so far.

My guess is that the 1st part of the strategy is getting his name out there again and erase the Beady Eye colossal failure which they are doing to perfection...thing is, we are in June and until October there´s quite a big time gap. Although we do get a new single next week and i guess we will get another in August/September? At least there will never too big intervals without anything new from him. I think he will kinda keep the momentum going, it probably will not be as big as it is now but he´s got the name "Liam Gallagher" out there again. It´s a weird strategy, but i can see what they are doing, let´s just hope the album is indeed good at least so all this was not in vain. I don´t want him to fuck off forever like he said if it the record flopped.
And a part of me still thinks he really wants to go head to head with Noel. He will never publicly admit it, but i think he wants that war and it´s gonna happen inevitably.

What surprises me is his management letting music journalists hear new songs before the recording sessions were finished & before the album's tracklisting was even decided! Bizarre strategy...

If he can come out of obscurity after 4 years, and go down this well then im sure going out and doing the festivals before getting stuck in to a headline tour in the winter is a perfect strategy.
Some people on here seem to think they know exactly how to do things. Same people who thought wall of glass wouldnt break the top 100 and doing more than 2 songs live wont happen.

When you consider that the album was finished a couple weeks ago and the fact that vinyl usually takes 3-4 months to press, it makes sense.

I think they're still shaping the album. They have 22 songs to choose and I guess they'll choose which to include considering how the singles are received. For example if Chinatown is a ballad and goes high in the charts they'll include more ballads instead of rockers.
I'm just guessing, but makes some sense to me.

I think it genuinely wasn't finished and they've been caught off guard by how well the last couple of months have gone. I don't see how they can keep this momentum into October.

He never seemed to be all about touring over here so let's give him our best. I have my tickets for D.C. And I have made about ten of my friends get them who know nothing about him hoping they will be new fans! Everyone should do this

Something else I think is smart is with tickets for gigs you get the album. That counts towards your sales and these days 20,000 copy's can get you a top ten so that will really boost his chart potential

Clearly they want to create more buzz on the fact that it will be so close to Noel's album. Chart battle between the two will be a thing for sure, i kinda get that desire. Thing is, with already knowing so much songs, plus having a single or two out in the next few months and constant gigs, interviews etc. chances are we will "overdose" Liam by that time while Noel will probably stay quiet until the fall so automatically he will get a more fresh start to his release.
I'm sure Liam's album will do great, but as much as i didn't care about Noel's album few months ago, currently i'm a little fed up with this constant Liam's hype, if the record was out this week or something, it would be perfect. Although, from the fanboy point of view, it's gonna be exciting times having both Noel's and Liam's album out around the same time.

He could speak about either brother's album, but I guess he means Liam's.
