Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your new EP with us. "Something To Take The Edge Off" starts with heavy riff which (at least to me) quite new by you. You surprised me again, Jordan. and I became absolute a fan of "Heartbreak Hill" and you know why. Beautiful clear guitar riff which I can't escape from it. Well done and keep carry on!

both great songs indeed, i liked bass guitar line on "Something to Take the Edge Off" and your guitar playing great as always, i see too many Johnny Marr influence on you. maybe vocal volume a bit volume up would be better mix cause it's like making echo. what's the story behind title and cover? another great ep. keep carry on!

Thank you so much! The cover is actually my parents circa 1994 when my mom was pregnant with me! I just thought it was a funny cover to use, and 21211 is my zip code!

I listened to them last night and glad to hear your vocals more front and center. Just needs a little bit more balance in the mix. Heartbreak Hill reminds me of a very early Ride song with young Ian Brown/ Mark Gardener like vocals. I think the song would benefit from a shoegaze-like wall of sound with heavy reverb on your vocals.

jordan71421, I'm loving Heartbreak Hill. It's got a very addictive and wonderfully melodic riff. How did you manage to have Johnny Marr as a guest musician?

What a nice treat on a Monday morning. Quite refreshing actually.
As others have said... the more upfront vocals are great. The overall vibe here is awesome. It's generally an upbeat set of tunes, but with a twinge darkness in the vocals and guitar tones.
Well done. Keep it up.

Love the intro to the first song, it sounds very familiar to someone but I can't put my finger on it. The effect on your voice put me off to start with but by the end I got use to it and found it fit pretty well. Chorus is what you want a chorus to be, catchy and uplifting. Great stuff.
Your vocals are stronger on the second song for me. Enjoyed this one as well, probably prefer it slightly to the first .
Keep it up mate, I'm liking where you're heading.

jordan71421 finally got some time to listen to these two new songs I think I prefer "Heartbreak Hill". I like the guitar work more than anything on these tracks. Not sure if these are as good as "Sabrina and "Flowers By The Door" but I need more listen. Out of curiosity, how many songs have you written that you still haven't posted on soundcloud or spotify ? Do you write all the songs on electric guitar or some on acoustic ? Anyway, good job for the new songs. You're quiet new for music, IIRC, but you have already an EP done so that's great. Keep writing and you'll keep progressing !

I have about a dozen songs that are either completely finished or almost finished, and in the upcoming months I will be playing live with a full band including some old friends so I'll post live footage of us when we play if you're interested!

Here's a one-off new song I wrote and recorded in one day. Dedicated to my favorite film character of all time, Enid from Ghost World.

"Enid's Boyfriend" has a The Rifles vibe which I love. Nice catchy song.

i like the song, very good melody. i think it's a good example for how modern alternative rock sounds like to be. it's good that you using your stress and anxiety for your creativity. it should be difference between an artist and a regular person. i also looking forward to full band live performance. keep carry on!

My song "Heartbreak Hill" was featured on the French radio channel Exodisc! Listen to the first few minutes to hear them talk about my music (in French, mind you.) I have no idea what they are saying about me so if there are any French members on this forum please help me translate! www.mixcloud.com/exodisc-radio/mirage-14/

I have no idea what they are saying about me so if there are any French members on this forum please help me translate! www.mixcloud.com/exodisc-radio/mirage-14/Before the song: "We're gonna start with a young american from Baltimore. He is called Jordan Jackson. His big influences are british rock and garage rock. He's not singing about very uplifting themes but actually the music itself is rather uplifting and cool. He released a single last month and I'm gonna play the b-side: "Heartbreak Hill". " After the song: "It was Jordan Jackson, with "Heartbreak Hill". Quite pop, that tune, quite pop. Thanks to you, Jordan. We're looking forward to your next tunes. That's an important to not forget about new artists. I have been following him for the last few days and I'm going to continue."
