If Oasis were to reunite in 2017 which lineup would you like to see? My personal opinion: Vocals: Liam Lead Guitar/Backing vocals: Noel Rhythm Guitar: Gem Bass: Bonehead (Should be able to handle it) Drums: Alan Sharrock will definitely be on drums given his involvement with Beady Eye and now the HFB although he never appeared on record with Oasis. Personally I prefered Zak's style on the last two albums to any of the others. A bass player is probably the hard part if Andy Bell is gone, I wouldn't be suprised to see a four piece with Russ retained but parked at the back of the stage. This would be like GnR, once it's Axl and Slash nobody gives a f**k where Izzy or Adler/Sorum is. The main two put bums on seats. Once Liam and Noel are there then the rest is irrelevent, they could tour with Tim Smith and Jeremy and sell out stadiums no bother. If there was an album to be record then there's no way Gem or Andy should be putting tracks anywhere near it. DOYS was an example that Noel wrote 6 out of the first 7 and upto that point it was a very good album then after that it's rubbish.

Nope, Zak is on DOYS, Sharrock only did the tour,
Regarding the reunion, I really hope it doesn't happen, Oasis were almost a train wreck towards the end of their career and did their very best to try and ruin their legacy. Liam growling through Slide Away while Noel daydreams on stage about the money he'll earn is not what I call fun

A reunion will happen someday, but it ain't going to be anytime soon. If it did, I'd love it to be Liam, Noel, Bonehead, Guigs and Alan, the real Oasis, but let's be honest, there's more chance of Kate Moss appearing on stage with the band than the classic line up. It will be the following - Liam, Noel, Gem, Chris and Russell.
As mentioned above as long as Liam and Noel are there, most people will be happy with a guest appearance by Bonehead when they play Columbia or something.

I think we can safely rule Tony, Scott, and Andy out of any and all future reunions.
I don't think we'll ever get one though. Noel will go the Paul Weller Andrew hohnny Marr route and I think he knows he should have done so sooner.

I think while Noel can sell out arenas at £60 a ticket grossing over £1m per venue, he isn't going to bother with an Oasis reunion.

The reunion will happen. It's a question of "when", not "if". Thing is we all know it will most probably be a good album (if they do release one) but if it does happen imo they should just stick to the album version and avoid live performances with Liam's voice being what it is. Considering that's very much were the money is in this day and age whatever reunion format they have (if it even happens) will very much be centred around a substantial money spinning tour. I am sceptical to be honest about whether they would even bother with a new album or simply go on a final "Grand Looting" farewell tour and rinse the money, given that contemporaries and idols such as The Stone Roses and The Verve have had mixed results at best with post reunion releases. That's a good point. Tbh, I don't think there is anything Liam can do to repair his voice (correct me if i'm wrong). I'd even be happy with his 2011 or 2008 voice tbh..which shouldnt be too hard to achieve. In a world of (imo) crap music, i'd love to see Oasis re-unite but I cant see it happening soon.

Sounding like he did, no. But at least not sounding so nasal and not being out of breath, yes. It's not exactly a "repair", it's more of an "avoiding it to get worse", ya know. And that sayin' to his solo work as well, it doesn't need to be an Oasis reunion.

I think while Noel can sell out arenas at £60 a ticket grossing over £1m per venue, he isn't going to bother with an Oasis reunion. He can do this only in Uk! With Oasis he can play stadium all around the World, and split With one more person. Its just a matter of time!

Bit of revisionism there Pedro- Stadiums in the UK and South America, but a great many dates were either first booked or downsized into arenas or other venues elsewhere on multiple tours. The spilt will be weighed up against whether as a multimillionaire pushing 50 or probably past that by the time of a tour he can actually be bothered to go through another tour as a reunion tour would be a fairly extensive undertaking i.e. not just a few nights or one off gigs as some seem to think. As to Liam I know he says he is up for it and if he completes a solo tour still sounding good I will be inclined to believe his voice might hold up to the rigours of a long tour with extended periods of travelling, etc. It will also depend where his life is with his fashion business and solo career, although out of the two he is clearly IMO more up for such an event.

I don't want to see oasis becoming like the Who or the Stones.
Imagine a 50 year old Liam Gallagher singing Rock n Roll Star? No thanks.

It will be the following - Liam, Noel, Gem, Chris and Russell. add in jay darlington on keys and you have a deal. the most-recent line-up is just fine with me, the band sounded absolutely fantastic during the DOYS tour. just listen to how some of those songs sparkle on the rehearsal* or electric proms bootlegs (a couple examples). wow. too bad liam's voice couldn't match the instrumentation. EDIT: liam sounded fantastic at the rehearsal gig, i'm talking about most of the other gigs on the tour.

I'd rather have Oasis playing Rock 'n' Roll Star Liam or Noel on their own. I don't think their legacy is good at the moment, because Oasis will only be remembered outside their fanbase and the UK/Ireland as ''The Wonderwallers''. Just like Blur with Song 2. and Beady Eye with The Roller.

I assume I can be happy that there seem to be quite a lot people all over this forum who are sooooooo against a reunion or are not interested in it since there will be way too many people already who would fight for tickets (if the reunion ever happens) Good for me if I can count you out

Arenas there as well IIRC- substantial ones like the 17,000 capacity Yokohama Arena but not the 55,000 Tokyo Dome which has hosted Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney amongst others. I've said before Oasis weren't as big everywhere else as they were in the UK, although most of their British contemporaries would have given everything for their careers to have been of a similar scale. If the do a reunion tour it will be a substantial undertaking that I would imagine will comprise of UK stadiums with arenas and festivals in overseas countries barring South America where I would imagine they would do stadiums once more.

For 2 hours now I´m sitting in my office and my head goes SHOUTING LAGER LAGER LAGER LAGER MEGA MEGA WHITE THING MEGA MEGA WHITE THING guigsysEstring but they also did Yokohama Arena 4 times in 8 days plus a few more gigs so I think in Japan they could sell out a stadium if they only do one night there. Would be aside of the UK and south america probably the only place in this world where it could happen.

Don't you find it the least bit suspicious that Liam's voice is bang on form again (sounding even better than with Oasis in 2009)? The reunion may not happen this year, but surely we're now gearing up towards it? Let's be 'avin' ya!
