The bottom line is no one will care bar a few hardcore fans. As long as his solo work is given proper attention the vast majority of people will be perfectly happy to see him sing those songs especially those songs that without a reunion have a good chance of never being performed live again. We can leave it to those few precious people on here to moan about it, for the rest of you, I'll see you at the gigs for a drink and a sing along. Is stating your opinion considered moaning now? Geez, I thought this was a music forum on Oasis and Gallagher brother related projects. I gave Beady Eye and now Liam the upmost respect by saying play their own material. It's strong enough to stand on and develop without retreating to the Oasis tentpole songs. Same applies to Noel Gallagher. They don't need those songs. Agreed not moaning either, just stating the sad truth that's gonna happen to Liam if he plays Noel's songs. I'll be happy to go see him even if he plays his brother's tunes (YES)... but that's not the right decision. The first BDI tour was full of energy, they something to prove, they fought for their songs. The second with Oasis tunes was... not : how hard was it to have every night people not giving a fuck about your songs and only playing attention only when you played Champagne Supernova...

Are you being serious!? You saw the crowd reactions when BDI played Oasis right? The majority of people at the gigs were far more "bothered" about hearing Liam sing Oasis... You and a few others on this forum might have missed that cos you were at the bar at the time saying "what sell outs, they should be playing Little James." ;-P Edit: If you mean why bother releasing a solo album, obviously he still wants to put his songs out but would rather be doing that via Oasis with his 1-2 songs quota but in the absence of Oasis has to put his own album out entirely. I'd say his solo album is largely to allow him to tour because that's what he really enjoys. And he now realises his own name and own album is a bigger crowd draw than the more anonymous BDI. Yeah that's what i meant. Why bother releasing a solo album if you only intend to attract people that want to hear Oasis tunes. Just tour playing the old tunes again and again and become a joke already, at least there wont be any surprises... As for the gigs, i stand by my opinion: If Liam plays Noel's songs, as you said, some / most people will be happy, but Liam won't do better than BDI, and he will still play 1500 people venues... the very same situation that led him to disband BDI. So yeah, 1500 people will be happy to hear him sing Wonderwall every night, but that won't be enough for Liam, or his wallet. I just don't get people. What is wrong with stating your opinion that you would rather see Beady Eye or now Liam launch his career by focusing squarely on his new material? I believe in Liam. I hope Liam believes in Liam. I hope this forum believes in Liam. It takes a lot of work to begin a new phase of a career. Playing Oasis songs is a short term solution but it's not the long term one. Spoiler Alter................THAT IS MY OPINION probably shared by very few but I'm thinking big picture. I already am getting the impression from Liam he is going into this half hearted and biding his time for a boring Oasis reunion. I don't care how many soccer stadium they sell out. The band was getting to be predictable and lifeless over it's last decade. Onwards!

Just from name recognition alone he may sell more tickets as a solo artist. Maybe he's lowered his expectations to more realistic levels now too!?!

The band was getting to be predictable and lifeless over it's last decade. Onwards! There's nothing wrong with you having that opinion. MY OPINION is just that almost all of Liam's songs (whether with Oasis or BDI) have been utter pish, so I'll probably get most enjoyment at his gigs from the classic combo of a Noel song with Liam's vocals. <Insert Pirate smiley here> I genuinely hope his solo album is great, but from his tracks already out there, given the option to hear Ain't Got Muffins live or Slide Away, well you know where my vote goes... My hope (as stated in the dream setlist thread) is that Liam's tour actually gives us the chance to hear some of the lesser played Oasis tunes. So it could be a massive bonus over another predictable Oasis greatest hits tour. He does love Be Here Now..

He stated the other night he hadn't gone into the studio yet. And the songs were still at the demo stage. STILL. What the fuck is he waiting for?? It will be half arsed. And it WILL be Beady Eye Mk II. Plain and simple. And a failure.

Shame he didn't get into the studio earlier because he's had loads of (good!) press recently with Supersonic coming out, Q interview etc. Would have been a very opportune moment to be starting his album campaign.

guys, liam does not want to go solo, and it is not interested in his solo songs.
he is saying he wants to be in oasis all over the place. cant you see it? He loves oasis, he loves the songs, and he wants to perform them. He cant be more clear. He is grinding his teeth while he goes solo.
He is a bigger fan than any of us. The new material is an excuse to be back in the game, and tour keeping the OASIS fire, which is what he really likes. Let the lad do what he likes, not what you would like to do if you were him.
''Being out of Oasis has been like a big f***in' hole, but that's life. And I'm dealing with the f***in' guy that likes to be in f***in' control so I'll have to wait for him to lighten up. ... ''I'm ready to go, my f***in' suitcases are packed. I know for a fact I could still whip me a**e out of them songs. If it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't.
''In the meantime I'm doing a f***in' record on me jacks. And that won't be nearly as good or as important.''

Big time. I guess I'm taking his solo career more seriously than others on the forum and maybe even Liam himself. I'm excited for solo LIAM GALLAGHER. He better use his own name. No more bands.

To be fair Liam could pad his setlist out with some decent songs he penned himself, a few of which would be crowd pleasers
Songbird I'm outta time The meaning of soul (good live) Bring the light (good live) Better man (good live) Guess God thinks I'm Abel Love like a bomb The boy with the blues Start anew

I just hope that he get a decent live band to play (oasis) songs. And if he plays Morning Glory he should have a good person behind him to sing backing vocals. If that's the case I hope he will play Ain't Got Nothin', it's great live.

I've always loved it, both album and live. Seems to be one of those Liam tracks that doesn't get mentioned much on forums/by fans etc. Love Born on a Different Cloud too. (I actually quite like Heathen Chemistry but don't want to start that debate on here 😂😂😋🤓)

Of course he's going to play Oasis live - because the reunion is imminent! No, but for real, it is.

I can only see him getting pissed off with the crowd going nuts for the Oasis songs then not giving a shit for the rest. If I were him I'd sing the new songs and perhaps have an acoustic session where he can throw in the odd rarity. Let the crowd lump it, like they did on the first Beady Eye tour.
