I can't upload through my mobile but just so everyone knows, there's a 60 seconds interview with Liam in the Metro in the UK today. Questions such has "funniest part of the film", "Will you make it up with your brother", "Why do you call him potato" and about his new solo album. If anyone can be so kind as to upload the scans from the interview? I can but not till later on

en.francais-express.com/news/entertainment/-74048-liam-gallagher-might-f-off-forever-if-his-solo-lp-flops/Liam Gallagher says he might "f*** off forever" if his solo album doesn't do well. The 43-year-old rocker recently landed a major deal with Warner Bros UK to release a record in 2017, and when quizzed on whether he would like to get back together with Oasis, the band's former frontman said he would like to see it happen because aside from making his own record he has nothing else on his schedule. However, if his own album is a flop commercially, the former Beady Eye frontman says he may call time on his music career altogether, but if it is a success he will hit the studio to make another one. Asked if there is a chance of him reforming Oasis with his bitter rival and brother Noel, 49 - who walked out on the group following a massive bust-up with Liam on stage in August 2009 - he said: "As long as you're still breathing there's always a chance. Obviously I'd like to do it 'Cos there's a f*** all else to do. In the meantime a solo record will have to do. "I've done the Beady Eye thing and that didn't come off and I thought maybe I'll just have a break, but I wrote these songs, and I thought, what else can I do? This album if it does well we crack on and do another one. "If it doesn't [laughs] I don't know what I'll do. I probably will f*** off forever but we'll see." The 'Live Forever' singer was speaking in promotion of the forthcoming Oasis documentary, 'Supersonic', and said watching it back was "emotional" and he was glad it showed the funny side of his long-running feud with Noel. In an interview with the Metro newspaper, he admitted: "A few bits were emotional, nothing I can't handle. I'm glad they got the funny side out of it - a lot of people think we take ourselves seriously, but the other side of it can go to hell."

I usually dont take what Liam says seriously but yea I can see him retiring if this doesnt go well, its pretty much the last chance after beady eye, theres nothing else he can really do besides start another band and that would be abit pointless.
Im kind of surprised hes doing the solo thing at all, I wouldve thought it wouldve been oasis or nothing this time last year.
problem is for me is that I cant see it being much better than the real people by richard ashcroft and while that was a fairly decent album imo, it didnt set the world alight which probably wont be enough for Liam, just hope Im wrong.

This concerns me a bit, I just hope he doesn't have these huge expectations in his head like he did with Beady Eye. He needs to be realistic on how well it can do. I certainly don't see it being a flop, I think it has a chance of getting to No.1 with the right promotion and picking a week where there isn't another major release.
I just wish Liam would stop chasing the success he had in Oasis and just enjoy making music because that's all that matters at this stage.
I cannot wait for this album.

Funny, everybody seems to have it or at least part of it online, but not Metro, apparently. www.nme.com/news/oasis/96758Seems to be a good one!

The "he can't sing" comment from Noel really bugs him eh. But a very honest Liam, admitting he misses Noel.

well there goes my hope of Liam doing something abit different like violet hill and cemeteries of London...
"God, I don’t know, it’s nowhere near… Good songs, good vocals, rock’n’roll, mate, stuff you won’t have to think too much about. No long guitar solos, no drum solos, no mad wizardy keyboard, just bang in-your-face. It’s good."
hmmm sounds familiar.....

Yeah I can't see him writing the songs good enough to pull off what he wants, certainly as what he describes makes them sound no different to what he's done before.

Liam's coming across well in all these interviews (there are also pieces with him in Empire and British GQ).
His love for the band is really obvious.

"No where near", that's a shame, thought we might hear something soon. The people who are expecting Liam to come out with some experimental album need their heads testing. We know by now Liam likes what he likes and isn't going to venture to far from that. As long as they are good songs and have good vocals like he said then why does it matter if they aren't experimental. Just enjoy Liam being back.

Oh, I can see them being good enough, I wasn't saying that. I mean I think he paints this picture in his head that if it doesn't sell over a certain amount or he isn't playing arenas then it's a flop. He needs to be realistic.

If he decides to play Oasis songs then he will be fine. I can see why you would say that but TBH if he's going to do that he might as well get together with his brother after a perfunctory promotional effort for this album and do the Oasis grand looting farewell tour...

Eh? Well, that's what he said he'd love to do but since Noel seemingly isn't interested, what else is Liam to do other than release his own stuff (and maybe do some Oasis songs live)??

Eh? Well, that's what he said he'd love to do but since Noel seemingly isn't interested, what else is Liam to do other than release his own stuff (and maybe do some Oasis songs live)?? The Oasis songs live didn't exactly help Beady Eye as I recall- whichever way you slice it unless Liam is performing his songs from that band he is covering Noel songs written for a defunct band. Good luck to him but it's hardly a move forward in any real sense, whereas going out and playing his catalogue of songs he has written or co-written from across his career would at least be him striking out on his own. As for Noel I am aware that his nibs isn't keen on the reunion as yet, but I can see money ultimately overtaking his sense of wanting to be like Messrs. Marr and Weller in refusing to reform their respective bands, even if it is for one last massive pay day bonanza. I do think it will come in the relatively near future as if it is going to happen with the brothers both capable of it and with hair it can't be put off forever
