The production will have a big importance. Because you can't expect Liam to come up with anything else than Lennonesque type of songs. It's in his veins, I'm not sure he could come up with anything else. The production will be the most important thing to make the tunes sound more "more" and "fresher". However, I think the songwriting quality MUST come first. For instance, Noel. Everyone seems to like ITHOTM, BOTMI, WAL, as they sound "modern". For me, they're lazy songwriting for Noel's standards. None of them will make my top 15 HFB tunes. These are some of the worst singles he has ever written, along the HC ones. On the other hand, While The Song Remains and Riverman have fresh productions and they are both quite good songwriting. In the case of Liam, of course nobody wants a new dated record. But the most important will always stay the songwriting. Would love for him to try and leave his comfort zone on a couple songs at least.

We've had over 20 years of Liam singing his norm, nothing wrong about wanting something a bit different. I wonder what modern stuff Liam listens to these days?

Doesn't seem like the kinda person that would go out seekin' new music young or old. To be honest I don't think he's greatly into music apart from The Beatles etc. He loves the rock star side of it more than the music I'd say.

"With Liam you get danger. You get big, massive hairy bollocks."
Spot on! DGSS and BE were definitely brave attempts and mostly bollocks.

Liam's definitely into music, not just Beatles. Lately he's been tweeting about The Damned, Sex Pistols and The Boys. He'd list bands like La's, Kinks, Jam, Beatles, Pistols, Roses, Who and maybe even Doors.
