These sound great! I like how you're trying to build up to full band arrangements, and I would like to see how you'd arrange these tunes. I'll also take this moment to again plug As She Goes to you. It's definitely the best song that you've written, and you should aim for something like this when you write in the future. It flows very naturally and is alive with energy not found in the rest of your songs (which are still good though!). I believe that you said that you'd forgotten about it and don't think much of it? Well, they do say that songwriters never know what their best songs are. Anyway, keep it up, and I look forward to hearing your next recordings. Thanks for your comment, mate ! To be fair on As She Goes, it's not my favourite but I do like it and forgot to share it on here (or maybe I did with youtube link ? Can't remember). It was written in the summer of 2016 and it's the only tune I wrote already knowing what I wanted it to sound like (key of C, a bit "baroque" like) before the actual writing ! Btw, funny you say As She Goes is your favourite, cos' all the people that know my songs seem to have a different own favourite: for the guitarist of my band it's "Village Story", for my brother it's "The Day of Karl Spensson", for my ex bandmate it's "Mrs Brown, etc... Maybe I should make a poll on here to know a bit more !

Funny thing is that I always mess up while recording demos, forgetting or mixing lines and words, etc I'll post the lyrics in the next few days and I'll tag you !

'As She Goes' for me buddy. Though I do like 'Sail Around The World', 'Be Alright' and 'You Drive Me Crazy' also. I get a Bonehead's Bank Holiday vibe from 'Be Alright', a Talk Tonight vibe from 'Gonna Show' and the repeated dornward strumming of 'As She Goes' is pretty Velvet Underground. Like I said before I think that singing style you use on 'As She Goes' comes across as the most natural for your vocal inflections. If you've got a recording of that Pixies-esque song you wrote a while back I'd be interested in hearing that, seeing as they're my favourite band.

About that Pixies-esque track, I'm reworking on it at the moment, aswell as finishing a track called "German Stories", the latter being more "baroque" inspired

I still need to listen to all the demo's on the list, lubeck, but I really like "As She Goes" and "Village Story". I'll vote as soon as I listened to all the songs on the list.

This song (this version) has a Lemonhead vibe, lubeck which I quite like. My favourite ones are: As She Goes Village Story Be Alright

Thanks mimmihopps and thanks to all the people that voted ! I didn't expect "As She Goes" to finish 1st, with 5 votes for 8 voters. On other hand, I thought "Sail Around The World" was going to get some votes but I was wrong. Anyway, that was cool to know what you thought about it !

lubeck, I listened to all of your recent acoustic/electric uploads, so I'm gonna give you my thoughts on each. I assume this was done in a bedroom setting since it isn't studio quality. I'll make my favorites bolded in preference so you can give those another look.
Be Alright - I will say honestly I wasn't a fan of it in this version, probably the quality of the recording, as I am of the studio acoustic mix you did a couple of months ago. I do think this one still has promise with a more elevated production, I'd say some strings which I see on your recent new demo of it you've added MIDIs.
Gonna Show - This is my favorite song that you've ever done. It's nice to see people have favorites themselves but I love this one. The electric guitarist did a great job with improvising his notes and adds alot to the track along with that great melody you crafted yourself. I need a studio version of this if possible in the near future, great one!
As She Goes - Alot of people seem to love this one, but I share your opinion - it's a nice little track but I didn't think too much of it myself. It would work great as the interlude piece on an LP. It's short and simple and seems easy to learn and sing so it has that going for it.
The Day of Karl Spensson - People are sleeping on this track Lubeck! Underrated, the fast tempo of it makes the perfect folk-pop song. With jangly guitars added to it you can make this song into something special that will catch people offguard who disregarded it at fist.
Village Story - A soaring string arrangement can take this track to another level around the chorus part I think. It's a nice one, beautiful acoustic guitar chords.
Mrs. Brown - Same opinion on this as I do with Be Alright. Full transparency I wasn't the biggest fan of it, maybe a better clearer production can change my mind!
Sail Around The World - I believe in this song, probably needs some strings (can't believe I'm saying that after being banged over the head with them by Ashcroft) but I feel the song's missing something distinctive.
I Don't Care - Not sure what your thoughts on this one is but I think it's actually good. Keep working on this one.

Thanks a lot for taking time to review it, mate ! Interesting to notice that most of your favorites are the older ones ! (makes me think that maybe I don't progress ) Gonna Show is in fact the second track I've ever written, between june and july of 2015. About, I Don't Care, I do like the track !

I really love the melody! As I mentioned to you earlier, it's got very nostalgic feeling for some reason

keke Thanks mate. Don't know when we'll do the next band rehearsal, but I'll record the full version then. @driver7 Thanks mate. The melody came to me when I was walking down the old town, with no instrument with me ! I thought it was coming from an other tune but didn't find anything so I recorded it !

Honest thoughts Good thing: I woke up with this mellody in my head. I think that it is the biggest complement you can get. Bad thing: I think that it has too many words in some parts Potentially good or bad thing: It sounds a bit like a theme song of some movie with Hugh Grant :-) Ok, its just demo, now its up to you how you going to record it and will you bring some rock and roll to it or will you just take loads of money from producers of that movie with Hugh Grant :-)

Lubeck, thanks for sharing with us. You are a good songwriter and this new song is pretty good. It's definitely your style but also has a universal appeal to it. The chords and melody are really nice, the stripped back sound works well. The best comparison I can make is that it sounds like a Smashing Pumpkins demo from the mid 90s. The only constructive criticism I can offer would be to smooth out and develop the vocals, particularly the melody. It can be quite hard to work out what you're saying and it feels like you're trying to keep up with the song. You'll get it, keep at it, and it will be just perfect. Well done!

God forbid ! (or anyone else, I'm atheist) Thanks still for the comment ! P-S: It's a bit similar to this.

Come on, Notting Hill is masterpiece. You know I was joking mate, really good song. I know but I've still got the trauma of a sound engineer saying " Hey, your songs sound like James Morrison !" (I'll let you check it out if you want to make your ears bleed). And he was pretty serious when he said that
