hey mate, i disagree that you have no inspiration. unfortunately you band disaster but that will give you influence you know most of rockstar thing if you know what i mean i liked and found that melody catchy, and lyrics are fine as always, i was expecting bad sound quality but in that condition i can say fair enough. insects are probably gryllidae a bit annoying but sounds like they enjoying and that giving some kind of psychedelic experimental sound i guess not exactly syd barrett's works but still. looking forward to proper version as well

Hi mate. First things first I'd like to hear your vocal more clearly, very hard to distinguish the lyrics throughout the song, the vocals need to be higher in the mix for sure. In terms of melody, very good, it's catchy and uplifting and really like the change at 1:15, it's a nice change and stops the song from being to samey the whole way through. Overall, enjoyed it, keep it up.

Hey, some news. I'm re-recording all my demos at the moment (+a new one)with some proper mics and an usb interface. False strings, piano, bass, and even drums (need to mix it properly though) have been added to some songs. Will post it soon, probably next week keke @supermario World71R matt mystoryisgory @driver7

I may have to wait another day or do before I listen because I want to be able to listen properly. But thank you for sharing. What was your experience like in a studio for the first time?

These sound great! I like how you sound more confident with your singing, and you've definitely become better with the guitar. But I must warn you, these also sound a lot like Oasis. Your voice still sounds like Elliot Smith trying to be Liam, especially on that bit in Sail Around the World that goes "and we'll never go BAAACCCkkkk". A little reverence for your favorite bands is never a bad thing, but remember that there's a fine line between a sweet homage and something derivative. Everyone's gotta start somewhere, but you can't forget to develop your own style. Weren't you going to record these songs with a full band? Just remember, though everyone loves acoustic guitar + emotion, it can be very hard to pull it off. With a full band, or even a few more instruments, possibilities are endless. Plus, different arrangements are a good way to disguise any similarities with your influences. Don't be afraid to explore new ideas and break the rules! Remember that you want to sound like Lubeck, and not anyone else.

I really like Alright! Simple, sweet and effortlessly catchy. I also think the "aaah's" add a personal touch. Maybe I have to listen more to the other one, but(while decent) so far I don't like it as much. Could be that it's a little too similair to Alright both sonically and narratively(not sure if that's a word), which makes it harder to stick. Anyway, you have talent, and just keep doing what you do

Hope you had a good time recording them (and if not I'm sure you learned a lot, whether you know it or not). Whether or not they needed to be professionally recorded I don't know, but SATW was a smart choice regardless. You Drive Me Crazy would have been my other choice (write some choruses for it!). Nice to hear the vocals turned up in the mix. Keep writing pal.

Thanks all for your listen and comments ! mkoasis That first experience has been so-so. I appreciate the fact my demos have finally a decent sound volume. The recording went very fast though. mystoryisgory I can understand what you say about the Liamesque "Baaaack". It wasn't done on purpose tbh. Also, those two songs are probably the closer to Oasis I've written. I would've liked to use other instruments but I booked it for 4 hours and I almost didn't finish the two demos ! The sound engineer took a lot time for the mixing. The main goal of that recording was to get demos with a decent sound volume. All of those songs have already their arrangements in my mind. Also, I'm trying to reform a band at the moment, in case I sadly can't go in Scotland to form a new one with @driver7 funhouse Glad you liked "Be Alright". By the way, it was written two months after "Sail Around The World". keke Glad you liked it, mate ! The Crimson Rambler I didn't like that recording too much, but I've learned some things like I should better choose the studio I go to Funny you talk about "You Drive Me Crazy", I'm reworking on it these last days, aswell as writing some new tracks !

To piggy back off of this, I enjoyed Be Alright again. It sounds so natural and pretty, like what the subject matter of the lyrics is on about. Sail Around the World is good, but it needs to be less Oasis-like, and I guess Be Alright does a little bit, but that can change when you put other instruments on it and do more takes. The quality of these demos is very good! It highlights the songs in a very good light and works well. I'm glad you were able to have this opportunity, and I can't wait to hear what your songs sound like when you get the band together.

lubeck, Thanks for sharing. The songs are good! I'd be pretty happy if I'd written anything like these. As its been said, they are very early Oasis - and that's of course not a bad thing! (if you had to have songs that sound like someone else, may as well be Oasis!) But like you read, the songs do kind of walk the line between being overly Oasis and very reminiscent of Oasis. Maybe because we're all here thanks to our love for Oasis we spot this right away, others may not. I love the chord progressions you use in SATW, especially the sound of the open strings in the chords. Am I correct in hearing a F#m11 (supersonic opening chord) in there? Really really catchy song and even it its bare bones shape, I can hear lots of potential in it. But still, very nice as it is. Although it can be made into a "big tune" if it were my song, I'd keep it more on the subtle, stripped back as it seems almost too cliched and too Oasis-y for it to just soar instantly. Essentially, I'm thinking more DBTT than BHN, is what I mean. Be Alright reminds me of Bonehead's Bank Holiday, more so the acoustic demo. Nice song again, I enjoyed it and your vocal is stronger on this one I think. It's a nice "b-side" to SATW as the "a-side" Thanks for sharing your songs and experience with us.

Just listened to Sail Around The World Mix 1 and Be Alright Mix 1, lubeck. Sail Around The World Mix 1 reminds me "Spend A Life Time" by The Rifles. They released an acoustic album, so if you're interested, check them out. I really like Be Alright Mix 1. A very nice song. I envy you L4E guys with musical talent as I can't play any instrumental, but I'm always hungry for good music.

I know I'm late but good work on the songs. I like how your vocals are young-Liam with a French accent, more unique than you think. What do you have in mind for the final mix in terms of additional instrumentation?

For the instrumentation, I'm thinking of a full electric treatment for Sail Around The World, and a mix electric/acoustic with false strings aswell for Be Alright (maybe a bit of harp for the latter too). It could change a bit though.

Just listened to them again and they sound very good. They have have that early-Oasis vibe which is only a good thing since there aren't too much music like that. Great melodies and your voice fits those songs well.
