Liam should try capitalize on the Oasis film coming out, get a single out for October to go along with the buzz surrounding him at the time.

all in the mouth of everyone all the time so nobody will ever forget about oasis..... right time and boom!!!
i think the reunion is planned long ago already....
would have been the first being all excited about it years ago, now it just gets on me nerves...... they both should do their own thing, period!

That could go one of two ways: either great buzz or it better be the best single of his life. Because whatever single he'd release around that time, more so than any other time, though to a point this will always be the case, will have the weight of the Oasis name. There will already be a lot of pressure on a first Liam single, but scheduling it around then would be near suicidal. I don't want Liam making the same mistake Beady Eye did. Beady Eye tried to catch the buzz, rushed a sub par album, and killed their career before it got started. The same would happen to Liam if that first single wasn't perfect. Good promotion is having the ability to wait. I'd rather Liam wait.

The thing is, if he did release an amazing first single at that time with more attention on him than usual, it would make a lot more people take notice and do wonders for him and his album. But like you said, if he released something average it could well and truly back fire. I have a feeling he may be starting to get things moving though.

I just want a decent album, somehting of substance. I don't care if he quietly releases it and it sells fuck all and he goes on a little tour of England. Buzz and hype are terms unlikely to be used in any Liam Gallagher solo venture, I just want him to do something good.

They may exaggerate, they may have seen or spoke to each other a little more than they say but all the evidence we ahve would suggest they are two people who have not been getting on for the last few years.

I agree with you personally thomaslivesforever that it would be good to see him just do something of substance, rather than social media all the time. The problem IMO is Liam has been used to tremendous success in terms of sales and tours, and that kind of adulation is not an easy thing for anyone who has been in it to come down from in my experience- @i genuinely think that was a part of the demise of Beady Eye, although by no means the sole reason. If he could have a comeback on a par at least with Noel success wise then I think it may well lay to rest a lot of the issues he may have had re: confidence and ability. I personally would love to see him just back making music again, and as uǝɥʇɐǝɥ said in another thread if he can learn to use his baritone more then there is no reason he cannot recapture some of the early Oasis magic at least and forge a solo identity.

Isn't that the point of advertising/marketing/PR though? The truth comes second to the image or message of whatever brand/product/service you are trying to sell? I take your point though I think there is genuine animosity there, it does happen with siblings out of the spotlight as they get older in my experience (My mother's family) let alone with near constant press intrusions for over two decades.

This thread reminds me of fan theory for films you get excited about.
Then the film comes out and Luke Skywalker didnt even have a line, never mind become a sith or get influenced by the dark side of the force.
I digress.

Exactly this. If he was happy to just keep "plodding along" he could have just released album after album with Beady Eye. I am not having for one second the theory they'd be little buzz around a Liam Gallagher solo project either. Who in the indie/alternative (whatever you want to call it) world would actually create more of a buzz if they said they were in the studio?

Hoping that by "stepping back in the ring" Liam didn't mean "I'm going to tweet more."

The more I think about a comeback for Liam, the more I think he should do a album of covers. Could workout to be really good if he loaded it with a bunch of 60s hits. Probably his best chance to make it again minus the oasis reunion.

Or more likely the press would tear him apart for being stuck in the past and lacking the talent to write his own songs I dont get this "Liam has to write his own songs", he can co-write imo, Liam just needs someone there to crank some decent choruses and help tone down his copy / paste stuff towards then end of songs, Id rather take a knock to my ego and work with someone to create something worth note rather than write it all myself and everyone says its mediocre and dated, if that what it takes then so be it, so what if Noel can write his own songs, doesnt stop the likes of jake bugg get hits does it. he is stuck in the past though, its part of what hindered beady eye especially in DGSS, its not good when your record sounds dated the minute its released because frankly DGSS might as well be a 60s album but to Liam thats "cool" however most people dont think the same. they started to get over that in BE by using sitek, Liam needs to stop writing lennonesque songs, most of his songs follow the same acoustic backed melody with similar lyric structures, even that new song "its alright now" is the same thing hes written many times before with no chorus and repeated Lines to close it. if hes going to come back, hes got to make some effort to modernise imo, Noels done it in come ways.

Or more likely the press would tear him apart for being stuck in the past and lacking the talent to write his own songs I was responding to someone who suggested he do a 60s covers album! And expressing what the press's likely response would be, not my own. I agree an album of co-written songs could be great. Totes agree.

I know, Im just saying people seem to think he would have to write the songs purely by himself to prove to people that he can do it without Noel but it doesnt matter, if he wants to cover a well known song and put his own twist on it or use the aid of a songwriter then great, its realizing your own weaknesses and dealing with that, Noel cant so certain things, so doesnt do them, simply writing and releasing a whole record by yourself just to prove a point isnt going to do you many favours if the songs arnt good anyway, people will just pass over it, they wont be giving him brownie points for writing it himself, they will just say its "not as good as Noels stuff", he might get snide comments if the song is good "well he didnt write it himself" but the song is good so no problem.
