The solo on Gas Panic!, and Gas Panic! as a whole, is a prime highlight of post-BHN Oasis. It really illustrates the potential that post-BHN Oasis had, had Noel hired the right people and everyone put their mind to developing and evolving the sound more.

That song should have returned for the DOYS tour. It would've been perfect for it. Honestly, it was the one song that was missing from that set list and it showed tbh.

I'd put The Shock of the Lightning after Cigarettes & Alcohol since C&A fits the vibe of the first two songs and TSOTL really fits the ominous, apocalyptic rock vibes. Otherwise, this is a great setlist.

On the thread of songs that showed what 2000s Oasis was capable of, Turn Up the Sun is a banger of a tune! It starts and ends so atmospheric and intricate with the guitar work, but the middle portion is just a full-on stomper of a song. It's too bad that it doesn't get more regard than it does.

Oasis top 10 most popular songs on Spotify: 1. Wonderwall 798 789 958 2. Don't Look Back In Anger 294 393 409 3. Champagne Supernova 153 759 783 4. Live Forever 96 105 255 5. Stand By Me 91 245 067 6. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 88 001 117 7. Supersonic 55 203 673 8. Half The World Away 52 300 896 9. She's Electric 45 266 351 10. Don't Go Away 44 536 782 Surprised to see HTWA and She's Electric there. I think the christmas ad a few years ago helped Half The World Away to have so many plays . It's cool to see this gem (one of Noel's finest tunes ever) getting played so much. That's the most generic and boring Oasis playlist ever. (Maybe apart from DGA) Obviously it is going to be generic it is there most played songs by the whole planet not just fans - not exactly going to have Lets All Make Believe and Eyeball Tickler in there are you

Noely’s guitar solo on She’s Electric is perfectly judged. All the guitar work on that song is great actually.

love putting oasis on shuffle in my car because no one can hear me yelling "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" at the top of my lungs when a really good song comes on

I’d have stuck The Turning and Gas Panic in the middle of the set, between Slide Away and MG instead but definitely those two should have made it. I think that the DOYS set with MBM and HTWA was great as their setlist (I loved TMOS too). The only problem was that it became so stale, in desperate need of a shake up.

Anyone know who taught Noel to write harmonies? He's written some really nice ones, CNS for example.

People have this impression of me that I only listen to Oasis, wear Oasis gear, and go out of my way to tell the odd geezer that I’m “mad fer it.” That impression would be correct.

Was reading an old thread and saw this: I haven't listened to Wonderwall on ecstasy but maybe I should try it since it's apparently mixed to sound good on MDMA

Sailing down a river alone I've been trying to find my way back home But I don't believe in magic Life is automatic But I don't mind being on my own
What a great line, isn't it?

There's so many parts that come and go, rise and fall & burst, throughout the whole song and it really is what makes the song a classic, on top of the instantly classic melody at its core.

Columbia is easily one of their best ever tunes. Quintessentially Oasis.
